Bread

The bread I am eating is taking up too many calories. I usually have two slices for lunch in a sandwich, and maybe a burger bun for supper sometimes. Any ideas for some lower calorie bread, I find the weight watchers bread to be too little. Thanks!

I like the Sandwich Thins. One 'roll' is like 80 calories.0

How about a salad for lunch instead of a sandwich? Or an open face one piece of bread sandwich?0

I like Sara Lee's Delightful 45 calorie bread in the multigrain. I think they also make hamburger and hot dog buns, but I've never tried them.0

Flatout wraps, they also make sandwich thin type of things. Check out the website for where to find them and the nutrition information, so very tasty and so very good for you.

I like having my sandwich in a half pita for fewer calories. Or, have a thicker half sandwich instead of a thinner whole one. And, as I'm doing tonight, I'll sometimes eat my burger wrapped in lettuce instead of on a bun.
Bread is an addiction for me, and for the calorie return, it's just not always worth it, so I've just cut back. Not given it up entirely... just less.0 -
Try whole wheat bread or bagel thins or english muffins. One Kroger wheat sandwich bun is 170 calories, I think the Thomas whole wheat english muffins are like 130 for a whole one... Kroger has a small pumpernickel loaf that's 70 calories each slice for 140 for a full sandwich...not bad.0

Hey! Try replacing bread with a wrap or pita pockets! Or just eat it as a salad. Good luck!0

The sandwich thins are great. Sometimes if I don't have a lower calorie option I go bun-less if I'm eating a burger or a hot dog.0

Bagelthins, Wheat thins. If I have to eat bread, I go wheat. White corn tortilla soft shells.0 -
Oh, and look for The Alternative Pita. One whole wheat pita is 100 calories, and a good dose of your daily fiber. Yumm!0

I eat lots of bread. I use Sara Lee 45 and delightful - whole wheat with honey. It's not a ton of calories (45 per slice) plus it's whole grain :-)0

I use Sara Lee light style oatmeal bread. It is 45 calories per slice and tastes better than white bread, in my opinion.0

I will have to try the burger wrapped in lettuce idea. Awesome!0 -
I eat Healthy Life bread. Only 35 calories a slice.0

Really? I find the Weight Watchers Multigrain (50 calories per slice) to be more substantial than its lower calorie alternatives. I love it.
Perhaps try a low-calorie wrap? Like the Light Flat-Outs?0 -
Sara Lee 45 calories and delightful0

Arnold's soft wheat 2 slices for 120 cals. Also Flat Out wrap are filling.0

La Tortilla makes a very nice 50-calorie tortilla....0

I buy whole wheat that is 35 or 40 calories a slice. I think the brand may be "Healthy Life" but I am not sure.0

I like Aunt Millie's Light Whole Grain Bread (Fiber for Life). It's only 70 calories for 2 slices, plus it packs in over a quarter of the recommended daily fiber AND 4 grams of protein. http://www.auntmillies.com/products/ProductView.aspx?prod=1357&cat=Breads0

When I make a sanwich or have a burger, I usually use whole grain breads. I, also, just use one peice of bread for the bottom and top the sanwich with a peice of lettuce.0

I use the low carb healthy life bread. It's 70 calories for 2 slices or 35 calories for 1 slice. Tastes really good too.0
