Hi guys do you use full fat mayo, butter, oil or low fat following a weight loss diet?

Full fat because it tastes better. I just weigh it all carefully to fit it in my calories.15

I use regular butter because I can't find a lower cal butter that tastes good. I use low fat Greek yogurt because I like it and it saves me some calories. You have to find the right balance for you between taste and calories. Some things will be worth the cals, others not so much, based on your personal preferences.9

I make my decision based on the taste - if there's no taste difference, I'll usually get the low fat - but most low fat foods make me gag - especially sour cream2
-
I use full fat on most things, but I do get light ranch because I'd rather use more dressing without blowing out my calories.1
-
Some things I do low fat, some things full fat. Depends on taste and what fits in my goals for the week.1

Full fat everything.5

I use light mayo but real butter. Skim milk but reduced fat cheese and reduced fat sour cream. I prefer low carb yogurt but I am very picky about the flavors. I dint do Greek yogurt af all.... it just tastes weird to me.
As far as salad dressing goes I use low-fat but then add one teaspoon of olive oil to it to enhance the flavor and control the type of fat I eat. When eating a salad I also like to squeeze a fresh lime wedge over the salad and top it with honey roasted almond slivers instead of croutons0 -
Depends on the particular fat. My LDL is 110, which is not bad since I have never had cardiovascular trouble, but I make an effort not to eat too many sat fats and dairy fat is mostly sat fat. I eat non fat yogurt, very little butter and use almond milk in cereal. But I actually prefer sweetened almond milk in cereal and non fat yogurt tastes normal to me now.2

Full fat on butter and oils. As others have said, the low fat dont stand up taste, and often texture wise. I often do low fat, high protein yogurt as it doesn't change the flavor mucho and banks a de calories.

I normally go low fat because I prefer my fat intake to mainly be polyunsaturated and monounsaturated instead of saturated and low fat gives me more calories for that. It is a very individual thing though. There is no way I'd choose this option if I didn't enjoy low fat food. There is no way I'd waste calories on food I don't enjoy.1

I use light/low-fat versions of many things because: a) I'm not a picky eater so I don't notice much difference, and b) it gives me more calories for other things, and I like to eat.4

Low fat = high sugar. Give me the fat.20

Not always. The low fat greek yoghurt, milk, cottage cheese and cheese I eat have no added sugar.7 -
Full fat mayo when I want the mayo taste, low fat when I just want a creamy coating of something. I find low fat mayo doesn't taste like mayo at all. Butter and oil are just butter and oil, they don't have a lower calorie replacement. Low calorie oil doesn't exist, and low calorie butter is just regular butter with a filler or is something that can't be called butter.2

full fat all the way - just less of it. I'm more concerned with additives and sugars than fats3

Full fat. For me, tastes better and is more satisfying so I eat less. Low fat greek yoghurt is the ultimate disappointment.1

Why would I avoid saturated fats? this isn't the 80's7 -

My doctor told me to because of my cholesterol. She told me to eat fat free everything. For the small amount of dairy that I eat, I'm really not worried about it (and I buy lean meats anyway). Low fat and fat free cheese is a crime anyway.
For the rest, if there isn't a huge difference in taste, I go for low fat (cream cheese, sour cream, mayo etc). Regular butter of course, and I don't really use oil (except maybe 1 second spray if I make eggs, which is rare).5 -
Full fat all the way for me. Just a little less of it.
I make it a rule to not cut out anything I like from my diet. Complete abstention from anything I enjoy just wouldn’t be sustainable for me in the long term.

Ditto! Full fat everything. Always. You need adequate fat in your diet, both to help you feel full and also to ensure that you are absorbing your fat soluble vitamins, A, D, E, and K.0 -
Full fat butter and mayo. Low fat cream cheese, cottage cheese, and yogurt. I go based on taste. I will adjust quantity to fit my goals

I eat what my family eats, generally full fat but I'm not opposed to reduced fat if it doesn't compromise taste or texture. I'm fine with reduced fat mayo (only Hellman's though) but low-fat cheese is a crime against nature.0
-
Honestly it depends on the food and how much calorie room I have on a given day (same goes with things sweetened with sugar or sugar substitutes though).0
-
I eat low fat because I'd rather spend my calories on other macros.3

Full fat cheese as well, as I haven't found a low fat one that tastes good. I'd rather have less full fat cheese than more yucky low fat cheese.0 -
Some things low fat, some full fat.
To be honest I grew up on some things being low fat so the full fat versions doesn't taste nice to me.
I, however, will never go with fat free. I have yet to find something this is fat free that I actually enjoy eating (I'm talking about yogurts, milk etc.)1 -

Your total cholesterol must be through the roof... dietary consumption of fats and cholesterol only affect blood cholesterol levels by about 10% according to recent studies (and yes, I'll post the sources if someone wants to get all bunched up about it, or Google it yourself).
Sounds like you've got it under control anyhow..
I eat full fat everything unless there is a significant calorie savings and the tastes is nearly identical.. some items, I take the calorie hit and make sure it fits and log it- you just can't substitute certain things.
