Playing golf in Blue Ridge Mountains in NC last week. Very Pretty.

Looks super-peaceful! Definitely an awesome place to camp.

Opened my front door to this not too long ago.. brown widows are EVERYWHERE around here.

Isn't it supposed to be the other way 'round?

..also.. is it just me, or does it look like there's a picture of a funny little skull on the spider's back?

Sharing a few phone pix from last week. I Had a study visit on a new development / business park in Sofia, Bulgaria. Sure, there's a lot of socialist architecture in the city, but it was surprising in a very positive way to see how well they're developing the periphery and how they're capitalizing on cultural heritage from a touristic point of view. Also, the flight corridor is straight above the center and planes fly really low (airport's super close to the city).

I get startled enough when I go to open the front door and the red-tailed hawk that has decided my porch is his domain is sitting there staring at me. That scene in the photographs? Time to burn it all down.

I looked for the little skull longer than I care to admit, and now all I can see is a cute, squinting bird face on the spider's back.

LOVE mantids! Such cool little creatures, and so dang unique.

And a cicada! Noisy buggers, those. I got into a hilarious situation once involving a much younger and somewhat intoxicated me, a rogue cicada, two police officers, and a license checkpoint.

I think your squinty eyes bird face is my funny skull face (it has squinty eyes as well). Creepy.

What I'm seeing isn't creepy. It's adorable and makes me smile looking at it. lol

    Maybe I should've slept a little more. :)

Those are what remains of the Serdica fortress, built on top of the Thracian Serdica settlement after the Romans conquered and transformed the area in a province. A lot of it is original, 1st century AD.

Because nature.as.fark. I am heading here soon. Fiordland National Park New Zealand.

    20b3vehrivr2.jpg

❤️❤️ The South Island. We've gone as far south as Queenstown for skiing. And Christchurch@Christ's College where our brother was a boarder. Been to Antarctica on field trips and opted out of being billeted in an Invercargill sheep farm.

The flora & fauna there is magical. Have fun.

Are you from New Zealand?! Because that's a freakin' rarity on this site. If so we should meet and go surfing or shear a sheep or something :D

We are New Zealand PRs, yes.

We should be coming down for my sister's reunion in 2020 and 2022 in Wellington@Marsden, Karori for us and 2022 for our brother. We make it a family affair. We have many Kiwi mums, dads and siblings via our schools.

We should get together when we pop over. We love sheering sheep (was uber exciting the first few times on friends farms). Eta: loved working holidays, picking fruits filled our baskets and our pockets.lol

**Do not leave MFP before we do.
