So.. I'm taking my first trip to the USA next year, any suggestions on where to stop (unfortunately only visiting the north).

So far I have Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland & New York.

Particularly would love ideas on places between Seattle and Chicago.

:)

Yellow Stone National Park. Duluth, MN (North Shore) Mt Rushmore, SD... Welcome to the states! Where are you coming from?

Lol. Thanks. I had Duluth on my itinerary but people laughed at me and said why?! It looked pretty in pictures.

Maybe it will be going back on.

    I'm from Australia.

Duluth may not be that superb, but it the north shore that is way neat. the light houses, the oar ships rolling in, some of the historic things in duluth.. but make sure you go to gooseberry falls... its pretty. But I have always wanted to go to Austrailia since it is so pretty... so who knows your coiuntry's beauty and our beauty may be way different!

If you are going to Seattle, you MUST see Pike Place Market. The Seattle Center is pretty cool too.

In New York, you should of course tour Manhattan and see a good Broadway show. Anything Goes or Book of Mormon were amaziing.
The Statue of Liberty might be closed due to interior repairs, but you can still visit the island it iis on. You can visit Ellis Island where my ancestors came to this country.
If its summer, check out Jones Beach or Robert Moses State Park. These are world class beaches 1/2 mile or more of sand and pretty good waves. There are also the beach communities of Montaulk, The Hamptons and Fire Island.

Be sure to eat real NY pizza from a real pizzeria. Limiitng yourself to one slice won't hurt your diet and it is very satisfying.
