To have been losing weight, then add in exercise to gain some weight back at first? My muscles are sore so I’m guessing inflammation today.

Often when people change their exercise routine they hold some water weight for a bit so yes, it's normal (assuming by "some" weight you don't mean a large amount)

Yes like 3/4lb.... nothing major. But my eating is right where I want so I figured the sore muscles are a result of not be lazy and getting up

3/4 pound is a swing that pretty much anyone might see on any given pair of days with no apparent cause.

Yes usually inflammation will cause a bit of temporary gain, and sore muscles definitely count in that area. It's pretty normal.

It's rare for me that my normal daily fluctuations are less than 3/4 pound.

As to the OP: Yes, adding in exercise often causes water/glycogen retention in your muscles and is completely normal.

Yep, happens to me too - your muscles retain water when they are repairing. In fact I started a exercise program yesterday, had a massive leg day (can barely walk today) and am up 1.5kg this morning.
