Hi all - I need to use up some minced beef and also some millet - so I'm determined to make burgers with the millet in place of breadcrumbs - anyone done this? Should I cook the millet first?

Thanks!

I just use lean beef, no fillers. I just premake the patties (usually 5-10lbs worth at a time then freeze them with wax paper between them). Cook them from frozen and they won't fall apart.

Unless I add some veggies, I don't use breadcrumbs either.

I'd also never add a filler to burgers. Really no need.

I always add fillers. Egg and breadcrumbs.

Millet is a tough little seed. I’d cook it first and even mash it.

I would definitely cook it first. I tried it uncooked as a filler and it was not so pleasant to eat.

    But cooked it was yummy.

I cooked it prior and it worked fabulously :) Also added carrot and sweet potato, mint, tomato and garlic lol. But next time just beef, egg and millet will do.
