Walking has its pros and cons.

    Cons
Times consuming, walking burn less calories then most other forms of cardio

    Positives
Safe most likely wont get hurt unlike sprinting or jogging. It is easy on your knees and lower back too.
Easy sometime like playing moblie games with walking in the park or on the treadmill. Listening to music or walking with other people make it less of a chore.

    Best of luck

How many times a week should I be doing cardio, and how long it should last, and how long should it take before i start seeing anying results from it?

Walking creates less of a calorie deficit than running. However, my doctor banned me from running due to a couple of orthopedic issues that I don't want surgery for.

I walk 1.3 miles every day at lunch (there's a great path right behind my office) and lots of days, I walk my dog after work. I do yoga and Tai chi a couple of times a week too. I have successfully lost and kept off weight doing this.

Recommendation for cardio is 30 minutes 3x/week, but I work with doctors who swear by 10-15 minutes once a day and some who swear by twice. (Interestingly, it's a 10-15 minute walk from the professional building I work in to the hospital, so maybe they swear by what is convenient for them to do.)
