Success/struggles of the week: Just trending along at 119. My weight is usually up and down within a 2 pound range and the trend weight is staying pretty steady so I guess all is good. I tried to donate blood last week and was turned away because my iron was too low. That is really unusual for me so I'm a little worried about that. But I have my yearly physical set up for Wednesday so I will talk to the doc and see if it was a fluke or something that I need to do something about. I'm not really looking forward to the visit as I just turned 50 and I know they will want me to set up a colonoscopy. I'm not really looking forward to the prep on that.9 -

Successes/struggles of the week: yo, I'm the one who is eating to benefit my liver: keeping saturated fat and sugar/substitutes on the LOW, LOW, and eating lots of vegetables (and a modest amount of fruit) for a constant wash of nutrients, and lots of fiber. I have been doing this just over 5 weeks now, and am down an astonishing (to me) 5 lbs. Sure that is attributable to the good old CICO theory that most of us base our assumptions on, but I believe I am also indebted to the healthy liver theory - eating specifically to discourage the liver from storing fat in the liver (either true fat, or the fat that the liver itself transforms excess sugar into). I'm feeling very good mentally and physically.
Thanks for sharing your successes and struggles. I read them with great interest, and wish you all the very best. Really awesome the way we keep at things, no matter what, through thick and thin. How could I ever throw in the towel, knowing y'all do that!12 -

Name: Faebert
Age: 39
Height: 5’6

Time it took to lose: on and off 3 years. First 30 in 4 months and then gradually reduced goal weight
How long in maintenance: 13 months

Have a fab weekend everyone x5 -
Jan-Jun 2017 avg weight trend: 124.4lbs
Jul-Dec 2017 avg weight trend: 119.2lbs
January avg weight trend: 118lbs
February avg weight trend: 117.9lbs
March avg weight trend: 117.8lbs
April avg weight trend: 117.5lbs
May avg weight trend: 119.1lbs
Trend week of...
1st June: 119.5lbs
8th June: 118.9lbs (Low due to some banking and low sodium.)
15th June: 119lbs (Low due to some banking and low sodium.)
Successes of the week: Still a mix of good and bad days. Mostly good ones, however over on cals for the week. Wanted to save cals for weekend, but seriously binged Thursday and killed that. Looked back at last summer. Staying at an average of 2K/day (low weekdays, Saturday splurge) kept my weight pretty stable, so trying to get back there again (Been more like 2300-2400 cals last few months.)
I am starting to menu plan more by activity level and for my GERD, but still wanting that evening emotional pile-on of foods that comfort yet hurt.
Fabulous news: Younger son secured $7400 in scholarships. That leaves a more manageable number for him this year. Still have almost a new car worth of student loans for just next year between the two of them, though, and will only go up from there.
Challenges of the week: Overtiredness helped set up a monster binge Thursday night. I was doing much better. Had 3 good days in a row and was hoping to get 6 this time.
FIL home but very fragile. Going to spend Wednesdays with him to keep company and house. End of school year crazy is growing exponentially!! LOL Going to miss my little darlings over the summer!!

Success/Struggles: odd Full time shift (12pm to 8pm) means trying to fit 16:8 IF into weird week day eating schedule- especially since eating heavy meal too late in the day brings back my acid reflux. Trying to find some balance is difficult right now. The hunger demons and light night snack demons are nipping at my heals all the time, now, it seems.

Successes/struggles of the week: OMG! Love my new job! It’s everything I thought it would be and more.
To keep up on exercise: The 4-story on-site gym is two blocks up the street and it’s very reasonably priced, so doubly happy. I am thoroughly enjoying the opportunities to explore the city on walk breaks with my co-workers or solo runs after work. I also put in a request for a standing desk so I can bring my step machine to work, too, for those cold or rainy days.
To keep up on food: Still a work in progress. I’ve got lunch and dinner covered, but I am still trying to figure out a good, high protein “make ahead” breakfast on the go that will keep me full until lunch. I have a Starbucks and CVS directly below my office, so easy access to snacks are going to be a constant struggle.
So much to still figure out on the personal front - where to live long term, what degree program to take next, and do any of my fitness goals change at all as a result of this transition? Nothing I can solve for right now; just things I want to be aware of as I continue on this journey.
Have a wonderful week, my friends!10 -

Successes of the week:
MFP seems to work better for me than WW, so I'm back to MFP tracking after 2 months of trying w/WW. Tracked all week. It seems more scientific. Eating 1 raspberry counts in MFP as does an ear of corn or a can of beans. On WW corn, beans, fruit, veggies, plain yogurt are not tracked.
We'll see how that goes with MFP. The price is right anyway.
Struggles of the week:
Was advised to stay off foot and rest, due to pinched nerve or something, so almost no WO and can't go for walks. Am waiting to see GP on Thursday or Friday to get further suggestions. Allergies yesterday. Thank goodness for antihistamines.8 -

@sofchak What about making egg white cups in muffin tins, then freezing until you need them? Also, peanut butter yogurt can be made the night before.
I am thrilled for you over the job update! Enjoy!!0 -

I have been on MFP for almost six years now, so I am pretty experienced with calorie deficits and the time it takes for the scale to reflect themI Following a "healthy liver" diet really seems to have added some much appreciated jet-like propulsion to the process. I have been wanting to descend to the lower end of my Maintenance Range for months now but it was like chipping away at a brick wall with a toothpick. Now I feel like I've been given a sledge hammer.
Thanks again for sharing your successes and struggles. Boy, we sure have no trouble understanding each other's joys and sorrows do we... anyway, feeling it, and wishing you all good things.
FYI - MY LATEST FAVOURITE EASY BREEZY VERY FILLING PORTABLE 405 CALORIE MEAL: is a massive double serving of 0% plain Greek yogurt, jam-packed with sliced almonds, golden raisins, and chia seeds. I make it an hour or two ahead and leave it in the fridge. I prefer Greek yogurt to regular because I like that it's as thick as it is. And this concoction gets even more gloriously thick as the raisins and chia seeds plump up with the whey in the yogurt. [350 grams yogurt; 20 grams almonds; 20 grams raisins; 5 grams chia seeds]10 -

Success/struggles of the week: My weight is really fluctuating a lot and it makes me feel a bit insecure. Also, I just started my first real job and it is super duper hectic. I have to work abroad for 4 days each week. This means very long days as on Monday, I always have to get up at 03:45 and work till 19:00 in the evening. It's really tiring and I find myself eating A LOT. Sometimes we have dinner at 21:00 at night, but I can't survive until that late without some snacks between lunch and dinner. Therefore, I end up eating too much. Right now, I have started with low-kcal snacks all over the day. So for instance, this morning: I woke up at 05:30 because this week we work at our home office (luckily!), has breakfast (oatmeal), then worked out, had second breakfast (chickpea salad and some greek yoghurt), then I snacked on mango, then two slices of brown bread with goat's cheese and applesyrup, and then strawberries and now carrots. Tonight I'll have a small dinner. I try to just snack a lot during the day, hopefully that will curb my overeating. Do you guys have any tips??5 -

Success/struggles of the week:
I am just trucking along in the 155’s! I have been wearing my Fitbit and getting 10k steps most days which I’m pretty happy with! I might stop logging a while and see what happens. Maybe at the start of July I will do that and see how my weight goes. I feel like as long as I stay active eating within calorie budget is a breeze
