Some days I feel like I can move mountains and today I feel like a pile of meat and bones. Seriously...

I work 2 jobs: one full time and another one part time. Full time is a day care for kids from 2 month to 3 years old, part time job - is teaching Zumba at the local Y.
I work out 5-6 times a week.
I have 2.5 year old son and amazing husband. They are wonderful and I love them very much. I feel like I do not give them enough attention but I'm just so tired sometimes. All I want to do is to curl in bed and sleep but I have to do puzzles with my son. I want some one on one time with my husband but by the time our son is sleeping, I NEED sleep.

Guys, what to do?

Sorry for such a whiny post. I just needed to get it out of my chest.

Wow!! You must be exhausted!! It must be a difficult choice what to do less of to make time for your husband. Perhaps you could both do something active together instead of one of your workouts? It sounds like you are doing more than your body can cope with at the moment. I hope you find a solution that works for you and your family. And don't apologise for a whiny post. It's not whiny at all, sometimes we all need to get things off our chest and it's better to do that than to let things get on top of you. (((hugs)))

What works for me is to be sure to eat every 3 hours. I eat breakfast then in 3 hrs a snack then in 3 hours lunch then in 3 hours a snack then in 3 hours dinner. My snacks are always healthy snacks. If I stay consistant my blood sugar never drops on me and I feel good all day :)

    6am-bfast
    9am-snack
    12- lunch
    3pm-snack
    6pm- dinner
  • right on. I have the little kids at home and working all day, I have the no time to myself thing too. I usually have to do all my exercise at night, very late. like sometimes finishing after midnight. And some days I feel the same, powerful and energetic. and other days Can hardly be bothered to sit up and stay awake all day, usually don't get out for late activity then either. which is counter intuitive because the exercise usually gets me some fresh air outside and i sleep better. so sometimes the low energy day spans a few days even.

the not much time to do things, i have learned to find little things in the middle of other things.

i know it sounds silly but having the 10 minutes of time to myself when i am driving to work, I started kind of trying to suck in my abdomen muscles. like and to do breathe deeply, like with my chest. kind of inhale, hold, exhale. just do as much deep breathing as you can, while being safe to not get all light headed while driving. I guess that kind of calm take a deep breath (literally) for that few minutes, helps me to get a bit of rest in to help me reset myself. which is handy because i do it after morning wake up before starting work and after work before starting evening routine, the times when i need the reset too.

Thank you for warm and fuzzy post! It does help, really. I like your advise about doing something active together instead of working out. Maybe tomorrow we'll go to the park all 3 of us and take a basketball with us.

I like your way of eating. I do it pretty much the same way. I eat 5 times a day: breakfast, healthy snack, lunch, healthy snack, dinner. I feel like it is the best way not to get too hungry and not over eat when it is a meal time.

It is very interesting idea. I might try it. Just 10 minutes for myself. I think it is wonderful!

Have you included a multivitamin and B12 supplement just to see if they help?
  • Wow, I am exhausted just reading how busy your life is.

Just take a deep breath and think about where you can balance your time... Perhaps doing family activities so you can get time with both the husband and child. You could take a family walk in the evening... That would give you time to chat one on one with your husband. Perhaps arranging a "date" night once a month just for the two of you. And, perhaps have a set bed time for yourself so you are getting a full 8 hours of shut eye in every night.

Everyone has days where they have more energy and some where they don't... Being sleep deprived probably isn't helping.

    Good luck!

I do not take any supplements. Maybe that would help. Thanks for advise!

Thank you for a nice post and good advise about bed time. I have this bad habit. After my son is asleep I sit infront of TV for an hour or 2 "relaxing". But really I'm just wasting my time instead of sleeping.
