Hi there! Would anyone care to join me as I join Jillian to get Ripped in 30? I just finished the 30 Day Shred yesterday and am looking to give myself another challenge. I found the support of others to be immensely helpful.

If you're interested, leave a note here, and we can try to friend each other. Just let the others know that you're getting Ripped in 30, too.

Who's in? Let's get ripped!

Great! Everyone keep everyone else on task, and report in here about how it's going.

Having just finished the 30DS, I am hopeful that Anita and Natalie will make an appearance in Ripped!
  • As you already know...i'm in. Enjoyed the motivation and support from all during 30DS.

I'm scared for Ripped though!

I would love to join, just waiting to see if my hubby listened and bought it for me for my birthday on the 17th. Just started my second round of 30DS, it's killing my knees though. I've heard Ripped in 30 is killer, but easier on your knees, so I'm looking forward to that. What was everyone's results from 30DS? I found minimal weight loss 1 lb. BUt noticed big difference in before and after pics. I took the pics 2 weeks into the 30 days though. :)
New to MFP as well so looking for new friends, so far loving this site :)

I'd love to. I had a lot of success w/ 30 DS last summer. I did 2.5 weeks of 6 Week 6 Pack but didn't see or feel results like I did in the 30 DS (and then I went on a 2 week vacation and couldn't keep it up). I'm wondering if I need to get bigger weights as my 5# don't seem to be difficult. I guess I should go pick up a copy of the dvd!

I am in! I think I will start tomorrow (Aug 11) though, if that is OK? I did the 30DS in May, had NO results, fell off the wagon in June and have gained back 7 of the 17 lbs that I lost since February!

Are people planning to post their stats at he beginning and end? Is it much harder than 30 DS?

I am ready to get back on track and lose some wieght! I hope you all can help keep me motivated!

Start whenever it works for you. In our 30DS group, some folks tracked all of the beginning/ending stuff, and some didn't. Whatever you want to do is fine. I do think a lot of people wished they would have tracked it, though.

Just post here and let us know how you're doing! Can't wait to hear about your first workout today!

I am only familiar with the 30 DS viideo, and this one makes that one feel like a stroll in the park! Wow... day 1 week 1 was a workout! But I feel good and hopefully I will stick with it.

How are you going to do it: Seven days straight per level? One week per level taking a day off? Spending more than a week on each level? For people who have done it before, what schedule works best for you?

I will be starting this on the 21st - one week after you guys!! I took some time off this week because I was camping and I will be waiting for the inlaws to leave before I start anything again. I only got through level 1 and level 2 of the 30ds as I hurt my ankle fairly badly. But to compensate for not doing level 3 I did do Jillian's yoga meltdown and No More Trouble Zones as they had much less impact. All in all, I think working out 25 days out of 27 was really good for me, and I am so very happy that I did.

I'm in.......ready to start another challenge. Didn't quite finish 30 Shred but did at least 25 days of it.

I will start on 13th.....sounds like a good day. I plan to take 1 day off a week. 7 days a week is just too much for me! (I think)

Week 1 Day 2. I am really feeling it, mostly through my back. But is feels good to be doing something again! I am going to take and post measurements today (anything to keep me accountable!)

What other JM DVD have you done? How do you feel that this one compares?

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.

I thought I'd take a month off from DVDs, but I've not been as good as I thought I would be.
I'm in. I'll probably be doing this every other day opposite my c25k training.

Will there ever be a point when you post a challenge and I can actually say 'Thanks, but I don't think I need it this time'? *grin* Thanks for keeping me motivated.

Wouldn't that be something! Thanks for the laugh. I'm a long way from being able to say that!

Everything hurts tonight! I am going to try to do tomorrow morning but my muscles might not let me. Hopefully I can at least get on the elliptical for a little while.

Is anyone else doing any other form of exercise to go along with the DVD?

Completed Level 1, Day 1 of Ripped. I like it. Having done Shred, this one is easier to follow her moves as certain moves, she repeats in this level. I like the working with weights on the upper body as at this age, I will never be a model but would love to have great looking shoulders and arms for sleeveless clothes. HRM said that in 33 minutes I burned 224 calories and was in the zone for 24 minutes. Pretty darn good. I enjoyed it today...will see what tomorrow brings. Also in this DVD she mentions that you should do the exercises 5 or 6 days making sure to have 1 rest day.

I also did 15 minutes of elliptical after but was too exhausted to continue for another 15. Feeling good.

:) So funny. Yay - glad you're doing it!

I previewed it today....she suggests only doing it 5-6 days per week and taking at least one day off. Who am I not to heed Jillian's advice?! I'm resuming my C25k program this week, so I will likely only to Ripped 5 days/week.

Did Level 1 Day 3 today. Didn't make it yesterday, but felt good today. I find that Jillian is much less annoying that she was in 30 DS, which makes the workout even better!

I think I will try to take one rest day in the middle of each level and one day between levels. other than yesterday, I am going to go on the elliptical on the off days (I hope)

I did preview all 4 levels..I wonder if i can twist and turn like that..? *laugh*

I'm thinking about starting up in a week or two, trying to rid my excess birthday weight and get back to losing the 8lbs I loss with the shred..

I haven't done the preview yet. I find level one as intense as level 3 of the shred...I am kind of scared of what level 4 might look like!

Just finished my first Week One workout. I liked it! It's hard, of course, but I liked it better than the Shred. I like that the strength is three exercises at 30 seconds rather than the two at 45-30 in the Shred. Interestingly, my last day of the Shred, my HRM said I burned 200 calories even (level 3), and my HRM said I burned 257 today. I'll take those extra 57 calories! I am still woefully inadequate at the side lunge things. I have decided to do them without weights to try to perfect the lunging technique. I do still lift my arms. I had knee surgery in January, so I think part of it might be psychological due to my concern about re-injuring myself.

I do, however, miss Natalie and Anita. I'm sure the other girls will grow on me, too, but it would have been nice to see those familiar faces.

I, too, was happy to see that Jillian recommends a day off. I suppose I'll take Saturdays off and just run on Saturday nights.

Good luck everyone! Keep pushing it and let's look forward to some awesome results! Have a fabulous week!

I HATE THOSE SIDE LUNG THINGS!!!!! I can not get them right. I usually just do side steps with the arm raises. I don't mind the girls...were the three as coordinated with thier outfits in 30 DS?

Today, I am feeling it in my calfs. After day 1, it was my back. I am hoping it will move to my core!

I did 30 DS in May and I didn't lose a pound. I am hoping to have more (any) results this time!

Definitely a higher burn...I like that also. I'm unsure that my form on some of the lunges is correct also. I try to go at a slower pace to make sure.
