Does anyone have lymphedema/lipedema? I have both in both of my legs. So it affects my waist down to my feet. I'm having a really hard time dieting and working out in pain. Anyone else out there, friend me!

Manual lymph drainage massage (MLD). Please contact a specialist that has is qualified in the field. I had BC 25 years ago. The doc took a sampling of my lymph glands. So stating this, my distribution of lymph had to find another way to drain out of my system. Some does drain and sometimes I hold on to lymph. I go for MLD every three months. A great relief.1

I have lymphedema. Go do MLD as previously advised. I actually go weekly, rather than every 3 months. Exercise in the water. It will help your lymphatic circulation and decrease the pain you're having with exercise.2

compression wraps and sequential compression to my knees, used to get MLD but some days i do not even need the wraps and compression. i find the wraps give me better results then any stocking type garment we have tried. but the sequential compression is nice when i have a lot of down time more on the weekends now.0

This post is a bit old, but there are not many posts about lipedema (lipoedema) in the first place...
I know I have lipedema, but can't find a doctor who is willing to give me a diagnosis--actually, I can't even find a doctor who is aware of lipedema.
However, I was diagnosed with lymphedema in my right leg&foot when I was only 12 years old.
In my early twenties, I weigh
ed only 145lbs and was very active: this was when the first signs of lipedema appeared, in the form of a lump on my right hip.
When I was 29, I gained 150+lbs in just over a year.
When I was 40-43, I lost 100lbs. [i am currently 43 years old]
These are some photos of my lower half and arms...

Sorry that my last post put the pictures all throughout the message. It did not look like that before I posted it... and now MFP won't let me edit the post either.1

Thanks for being brave enough to show us your pictures. It's nice to see other people with bodies shaped like mine. For years, I didn't know what was wrong with me. I didn't understand why my legs were so out of proportion from the rest of my body and losing weight wasn't helping. Does anyone take any supplements to help rid the body of water? or move the lymphatic system?1

I have a very severe case of lymphedema in both legs. The doctors have been running tests to see where the blockage is. Basically I have been told that my only solution is plastic surgery. My doctor referred me to a physical therapist. I do not think they knew what to do. After my initial evaluation they kept giving me the run around. It gets a little discouraging, but my doctor told me not to give up. After reading this thread I am going to look for someone that specializes in this type of massage and at least give it a try. I admit I was a little disheartened after losing 200 lbs and I still cant wear the clothes that I want to wear, because of my legs but I have to put my big girl panties on and deal with it.1
