    We dont have netflix lol we are two people on a one person salary living in a very expensive city. Believe me if I even had a little bit to spare on a gym membership Id have one. My financial situation is very dire atm which is one of the reasons I have such high anxiety right now since I dont know if I'll have a place to live next month. I hope that puts it into perspective. Some people really dont have the money for a gym membership no matter how much they want one.

    Thanks for all the replies! You guys have given me a lot of ideas so I am more hopeful now lol. If I ever do come into better times and can get to a gym I'll be a very happy girl but for now I think I can do it on my own :)

    Free workouts on Youtube!! My current favorite channels are Pahla Bowers and Yoga with Adriene. Pahla is fantastic! She has a huge library of workouts - HIIT, tabata, metcon, emom, weights, body weight only and some steady state cardio. And I love Yoga with Adriene!

    It is about perspective. I will discount someone's "priorities that are different" if they say one thing but do another.
    Budgeting is often about giving up what you WANT in order to pay for what you NEED.
    If watching TV is more important to someone than achieving a healthy and fit body then they should not be wasting my time.
    They are not ready to make the necessary changes at all.

    I deal with people *daily* who claim they don't have the "time" or "money" to train (the compound barbell lifts); those excuses go hand-in-hand.

    Give up your Netflix account (or cable / DVR, whatever) and you recover both time and money.
    In return, you will get a useful and healthy way to relieve stress instead of sitting on the couch while adding additional fat.

    Continuing with the same unhealthy habits and lifestyle choices is not the path to losing 100+ lbs.
    Life is about making choices and sacrifices. Almost anything else is making excuses.

    I have an internet connection because its included in the rent, all my utilities are included in my rent. If you don't know someones situation you don't really have the right to say that I should change my priorities. My current financial situation as I have mentioned in another reply is currently that I don't know if I will have a place to live next month not that its anyones business what my situation is but apparently I have to mention it. If I had the money for a membership I would have one but my priorities are rent, food and car payments/insurance. As I also said I dont have netflix I dont even have a cellphone lol. So please continue and tell me how im making excuses. Id love to hear it :)
    Also im not trying to lose 100+ pounds, my post said I have lost over 100+ pounds 5 years ago, gained back 50 and would like to lose 70.

    Don't forget, you can't out train a bad diet. That needs to be your first priority.

    pinterest has some fun stuff
    youtube does as well
    bodyweight programs are nice for strength training.
    save for some good shoes to walk or run in if you'd like.
    a yoga mat is not required to do yoga :smile:
    mapmyrun and mapmywalk and other similar apps are free.

    the internet has good sources for low cost healthy recipes too :smile:
    because all that is needed to lose weight is a calorie deficit

    Thats what im mainly focusing on now, my diet has gotten pretty bad and im trying to get back on track with my macros and calorie intake. Ive looked up my BMR so am going to work off of that. I also started doing IF again which has helped me alot in the past as im a snacker so it keeps my snacking under control and helps me make better choices when my eating window is.

    Great! I started out with 15 minutes a day of any exercise. You don't need a gym.

    I second this.

    You don't need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars.

    And if you literally can't spare a nickel(and I've been there) The sidewalk is free.

    We're also about a week away from the beachbody resolutioners putting their gear on craigslist.

    You don't know where TO lives. I've lived in countries before where the only gym accessible to women was a healthclub costing about $200 month, that had no weights! In my current place I could get a gym membership for £20-ish.. but again there are no free weights. What I can do is to work out in my livingroom. Quite honestly, in my financial situation, even £20/month is a lot. So it really depends on where TO is living and on her financial situation.

    edit: oh, TO answered. You'll do fine with home workouts. Why not also go out for walks, or pick up running? All can be done cheaply if you're careful and not overdo things in the beginning.
