Hi guys,
I’m really new to this and working out. Recently joined a gym, I have no idea what to actually do. I’m hoping to lose weight but also just get healthier.
I’ve been doing about 4-5 days a week of 30-40 min of eliptical and 10-15 min of random weights. Any tips on what to do?

Find a good progressive lifting program to start off with rather than do random machines. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you3

I personally agree find a set program but I do the reverse 45 minutes lifting 10-15 straight cardio. But I do a lot of hiking and other outdoor cardio type stuff. But find something you enjoy and you will stick to it.0
