Hi Guys,

New to this keto diet as well. It’s my second attempt to start it and hope I can stick to it without any setbacks. Any tips or suggestion to not get tired of eating the same things ? Proteins and so forth.

Thank you in advance 😊

As the first response suggests, hit the keto groups. They will have recipes and food ideas and lots of encouragement.

Personally I like eating similar foods, keeps me on track. But we are all different, just like some of don't like large quantities of carbs and can cut back on them and other people can't.

Google is a great resource for food ideas too.

The main thing is you go into it prepared. Also make sure you keep your salt levels up, to keep the electrolytes topped up.

Good luck, I hope you make a success of it.

    Hi Em

    Noted.

In an attempt to help the OP - try posting the question in the Low Carber Daily forum

There is genuine help on this subject there.

Let me also remind you that this is not the debate forum. Attempting to debate the OPs perfectly okay dietary choices in THIS thread will be considered trolling. OP has asked for guidance. Further valid reports will be met with anger, moderator discontent and quite potentially warnings. If Keto threads make you feel the need to debate, perhaps clicking on one in the General Health, Fitness and Diet forum isn't your safest course of action. Debating the dietary choices of other users in any forum but the Debate section could be considered trolling.

This is the second Keto thread I've had to wade into this morning. It's making me cranky. Get ahold of yourselves, folks.

    Hi @JustSomeEm ,

I think many of us could use guidance on where the line is. It's easy for me in "sugar addiction" threads, but not so clear in keto threads. If someone is struggling with keto, isn't it acceptable to suggest that keto might not be for them?

I think debate starts when people suggest that CICO does not apply to keto, or make other incorrect statements about CICO, and other posters try to correct this. How do we correct misinformation without turning the thread into a debate?

I'm willing to limit my responses to links to the LCHF group for the OP and to keto threads in Debate for those who are confused about CICO, if there's no middle ground.

    Thanks,

    K

Hey @kshama - thanks for this. Don't limit your responses - I think helpful responses that challenge a user are important. "The line" can be crossed in a couple of different ways:

    1. If someone is making suggestions, that's totally awesome. If OP is resistant, let it go.

    2. If someone suggests something you think is silly (or otherwise take issue with) to the OP, and you debate that user rather than helping the OP, you're probably starting to derail the thread. These types of discussions totally happen - conversations wander sometimes, and that's totally normal and okay. However, if they go on for more than a few posts back and forth (i.e. you're taking over a thread some poor user started so they could get suggestions or help), you should start your own thread to discuss so that OP can get their requested help.

There certainly IS some middle ground - the issue that will cause me to give a warning is if the debate has taken over a thread, and the OP's request for assistance has been left in the dust.

    Did that help?

Not speaking for ksharma but thanks for the clarification. It is appreciated.

    Pinterest...

I'm sure they have a ton of different keto recipes. I'm not keto, but I get most of my ideas for different recipes on Pinterest because I get bored easily with the same stuff over and over.
