I’m 5ft2, 124lbs. Looking to get to 112. 45 yrs. I would like to set my calorie goal per day rather than add exercise per day. Currently my exercise plan is 7 to 8 hours per week cv and weight training. I struggle on 1400 calories which has lead to binge eating and starting again tomorrow. What do u think my calorie goal could be? I’m office based so sitting most of the day. Any feed back welcome x

Scooby.com is pretty good, if you don't want to use MFP

Check out a couple TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) calculators. These will include exercise up front, but they are still estimations.

With less weight to lose, dial back your weekly goal to 1/2 pound per week (250 calories).

How much of a deficit did you enter in? Maybe decrease that and accept that it will take a bit longer to get to where you want to go? If it keeps you on track better. Maybe start at 1600/1700 for a few weeks and see what happens, then adjust up or down based on results.

You want to take 10-15% off your TDEE as you don't have much to lose.

That looks like a 20% cut from your TDEE, which generally is the max recommended. It works out to about 2/3 of a pound loss per week. That might be a tiny bit aggressive with only 12 pounds to lose. You could kick it up to 1450 (about TDEE - 15%, or about half a pound per week), if you want. But that's 80 calories -- its not a big deal either way.

If your (estimated) maintenance is 1700 and you can't manage on 1400 then why not split the difference at 1550?

It will be slow going (if estimates and your logging are accurate) but it's more important to be successful than how many weeks it takes.

I agree with this, and something that I did while losing weight. Although it took longer, it was successful as I stayed the course. It also helped the transition into maintenance, as it had become a regular intake and one I could live with.
