  • I suggest you do a search with the word detox in it on the message boards on this site and you will find a lot of posts with information about detoxes.

I have done one before, it's all natural ingredients and put out by a nutritionis Gillian McKeith. I'm in the UK which is where she is from. I know her books sell in Canada & the US but I'm not sure about her products.

I've done the Enzymatic Whole Body Cleanse a couple of times. The first time I did it, I felt great! Second time was fine, but not as noticable as the first. Be warned - it is A LOT of big pills. Seriously, I think it's about 7-10 pills/day...most are fiber, but after a while I had a hard time getting them all down. But I think now they make one with a liquid fiber drink.

A friend recently told me about the Sea Salt Cleanse. Anybody ever heard about or done that one?

It is difficult to get the Gillain McKeith products in Canada. If you go to your health food store, if it a half decent one, they will be able to recommend a good cleanse. The one I found to be most beneficial was the Thisilyn one. You take 4 pills in the morning, for in the evening and 2 - 3 at bedtime. You need to drink a lot of water.

I found that it helped eliminate cravings for sweets and I felt more energized with it. As well my skin felt softer. You iwll find that you go to the washroom a lot more but I figure it's just the body getting rid of waste.

I would suggest a LOT of research on it before you attempt. I have no problem with people detoxing for specific, religious, or spiritual reasons. But there is a wealth of information out there on why it's not a valid weight loss tool and can actually be harmful to the body. I mirror the sentiment of the above post about searching on the topic first. I'll only state what I have stated before. Our bodies have developed very VERY good mechanisms for dealing with waste and poisons. Detoxing can rob the body of many of the natural bacteria and enzymes needed to dispose waste and digest food correctly.

I'm not saying don't do it. All I'm saying is maybe you should talk to a doctor and possibly a gastrointestinologist first before you go that route. Besides being difficult, this can (if done incorrectly) be very harmful to your internal organs.

Unless you really like ~side effects~ like those associated with the pill Alli, I wouldn't recommend a sea salt cleanse.

I've done the Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox a few times. I felt great after a few days, could no longer feel any back pain or knee pain and I just felt so much lighter and healthier.
I think it mostly has to do with the diet though, a guide comes with most detoxes and you only eat whole unprocessed foods. When I can eat like that I feel better anyhow so I won't waste money on the pills anymore.

Yes, I have done the sea salt cleanse before I start the Master Cleanse..............

The Master Cleanse is the only Detox my Dr has approved of me doing without swinging my blood sugar from one end of the spectrum to the other........
