    Technically if their keeping it on the down low and their friends and family mostly don’t know and aren’t there .. it’s still eloping. ( by definition)

    Good for you....whatever it is techinically called! Lots and lots of people are sliming down for "LIFE"! :-) I am sure that you will be the most beatiful bride!

    Nope, that would be a small wedding or a private wedding. Sudden action is a key feature of an elopement, traditionally done to get around the requirements in one's local jurisdiction for a waiting period to obtain a civil license or to comply with religious requirements such as the reading of the banns, as well as to evade the objections of family members who might have either legal (in the case of minors) or social (in societies where marrying without parental approval is strongly condoned) standing to bar the marriage.


    In any case, a year is a lot of time @MixedbarbieMOM1991 -- you can make some big strides toward your goal in that time. Best of luck.
