I dont get off until 7:30 PM and usually dont eat dinner until around 8:30. I feel like this is going to hinder my weight loss as Im eating at 8:30-9 PM. Does anyone else eat a big meal this late consistently and have good WL results?

When you eat makes no difference to weight loss, unless it also affects how many calories you consume in total. (i.e. Some people find that eating breakfast makes them hungry all morning, so they end up eating more unless they wait until later in the day to start.)
You could eat your entire day's allowance of calories at 11pm if you wanted, and you'd still lose weight!18 -
Unless eating late causes sleeping issues for you it's fine. Meal timing is irrelevant, your weight loss will come from your calorie deficit.4

Don’t worry about it as long as it is not interfering with your sleep. Sleep is very important for weight loss, however, so pay attention to whether or not you feel rested after a night’s sleep and consider the impact of a big meal on sleep if you don’t feel rested.1

I eat dinner late a lot, sometimes right before bed. I lost 50+ pounds anyway, and still lose anytime I stay in a consistent calorie deficit. Meal timing doesn't make any noticeable difference.5

My partner and I always eat late at night. Dinner is usually around 9pm sometimes even as late as 11pm if we work late. It won’t hinder your weight loss goals as long as you don’t continue to snack or eat through the night and go over your calorie goal.0

Thanks Definitely relieved. I was stressing about this.8

As long as you stick to your calorie deficit it does not matter what time you eat.

I work in theatre and found I couldn't sleep if i had dinner before my shift, it was just to early. (I also have a 9-5 so I didnt have time anyway.) So when I work nights I do eat later. I'm still eating at a deficit and have lost weight on schedule.0

11 PM calories are identical to 6 PM calories No worries there.
I am a big late-night (9:30-11:00) dinner eater. Big both in volume and calories - about half my daily cals are for dinner and post-dinner „desserts”. Yesterday I only managed to eat at 11:30 PM and then go to sleep. If it doesn't bother you to go Zzz on a full stomach, then timing is absolutely irrelevant.4 -

why do you think it will hinder your weight loss?3 -
We are not robots. We are alive 24 hours a day, that means we process energy (food) 24 hours a day. It doesn't matter WHEN you eat, just how much you eat as an average for the day or week.3

Just to add, the reason why it's recommended that people don't eat at night is because many people will eat mindlessly at night after having already eaten at maintenance during the day. It was a tactic to stop the mindless snacking, but if you log and know you're in a deficit, meal timing doesn't really have an impact. I actually shift my meals late - I eat three meals a day, but my first meal is lunch at 11am, dinner is a 6, and then my last meal is at 8:30pm, which I sometimes call "night breakfast" lol.4

I lost all my weight eating dinner at that time.
Time of day doesn't matter.3 -
I ate dinner late just about every night when I was losing weight and still do today. I never eat before 7 PM and sometimes it is as late as 9 PM. It never caused a problem for me.

We eat dinner between 730-9 depending on when my husband and I both get home

It doesn't hinder weight loss unless you eating late results in you to no longer being in a calorie deficit.
This usually happens when people either eat normally throughout the day and in the evening as well, or are so hungry by that time that they overeat. If it all fits in with your calorie target you won't have an issue.
