Hello, everyone. I’m Gingersnap (really, that’s my nickname!) and I am excited to be here! I tried Diet Center a few years ago and it worked great, but when I stopped, all my pounds came back. Then came depression, and now here I am! Ready to take my life and body back and get into shape for the long haul. I started walking just to get outside some and it’s become a passion! I am excited about this community and I hope to find tips and encouragement on how to keep my progress going. Nice to meet you all! :)

    Hey Gingersnap,
I'm also a walker and I feel like it's very beneficial and can become addicting too. I hate to miss my walks. I'm in FL so extremely hot here. I try to do my walks in the early evening. Just too hot during the day. I do not feel like it changes my appearance much though. I have to lift weights to tone up. I'm in day 5 of keto and it's going well. What kind of diet are you doing?

    Hi and welcome.

Walking has really helped me with my weight loss, both physically burning calories and mentally keeping me engaged in the process. I say keeping me engaged because I've been at it for 15 months and motivation only lasts so long. :/

I'm getting a double knee replacement in January so can't do mega miles but I try to get out for a 50 minute walk on my lunch break. :#

I even walked all thru our -30 weather last winter. B)

Just on an aside..... I found this awesome app called Zombies, Run! that has literally got me out for a walk just so I could listen to it and see what would happen next!

Good luck on your journey and feel free to send a friend request if you'd like to add me. :)

Hey, there! I love FL but yes I know how hot it can get! I also try to walk in the evening. No way I can get up that early! I just recently added weights into my routine. As far as dieting goes, I’m just trying to have a calorie deficit. I don’t eat horribly unhealthy to start, but I’m trying to make better choices. :)

Haha! Zombies, Run! Sounds like my kind of app!! I try to walk a mile at lunch and then two miles in the evenings when it gets cooler out. Good luck with your surgery! I will definitely send a request ^_^
