Unfortunately you cannot spot reduce fat, so belly fat will come off as you lose weight. However you can work to preserve muscle as you lose which can help with it's apperance as the weight drops
-Do not have an aggressive deficit
-Get adequate protein (0.8-1g per lb goalweight /LBM minimum)
-Follow a progressive lifting program

Its normal to put it on around the tummy. Be patient, don't try to lose more, watch for it to even out over the coming months. Get some normal excersize like walking in, about 30 to 40 minutes a day. Have a little patience and remember you are healthier for that effort you put in gaining it. Congratulations!1

You just have to lose weight. You cannot dictate where you lose fat or spot reduce fat in a specific area.2

This is not necessarily true. Here is a very good thread that explores eating at maintenance on a progressive lifting program rather than eating at a deficit and doing cardio til the cows come home.

This is how I'm reducing my BF% BTW. It's a slow process but does work if you stick to it.

Cardio is not necessary for weight loss or else the people at my gym would all be lean despite looking the same. Caloric deficit is the only thing necessary for weight loss. I don't even do cardio and I am able to cut and bulk with no issues.
PS I am not saying cardio is bad, it has many benefits, but I wanted to make sure the OP knows that to lose weight, the only thing necessary is to be in a caloric deficit. Cardio is not a necessity , but can be a helpful tool.6 -

It's not so much of a six pack I'm after. I've always had a flat toned stomach no matter what I eat but now things have changed.0 -

Eat in a caloric deficit and lose fat. You can't choose where it comes off, spot reduction isn't possible.3 -
