If you want a meal plan that is easy to follow, you make it yourself. What's the appeal in low carb (and how low)?

I’ve never heard of that one. I’ve heard good things about something called “e meals” which is like a database of recipes and you add what you want to make that week and it creates a shopping list for you. They have different options like low carb, vegetarian, cheap, quick and easy etc. I did the free trial but decided to get rid of it. I don’t personally see value in that. I keep a running list of meals that my family likes so when it comes time to decide what to cook that week I can look over that list for ideas if I need to...

Skinnytaste.com has free weekly meal plans that are easy to prepare, delicious and either low carb or very easy to adapt to be low carb. Occasionally includes a recipe that's only available in her cookbooks though - but you can usually search pinterest to find them.

I misread this and thought it was the “Betty Crocker” meal plan. Cake three times a day is a plan I can easily stick to.
Me too,,I got all excited :o
    I wouldn't be surprised if that's a subconscious effect they're using deliberately.

You could just as well ask what’s the appeal in calorie counting / IIFYM!

    Not just me then.

The appeal of eating what I want whenever I want in portions that fit my nutritional needs? Yeah, I could, but I don't see the need.

We have very different pro's & Con's lists for IIFYM Calorie Counting. My answer for LCHF would be the same as your answer for IIFYM - I would also add, not having to finish my day hangry (which is my own personal experience of IIFYM CC).

My question is what happens when you pay for the meal plan and then you don’t like any of the recipes ??

I’ve been using Platejoy as a meal planner and I really like it. The recipes are very good and it’s very easy to customize your diet pattern, they have several different ‘levels’ for the low carb settings (I don’t eat low carb so I can’t vouch for those recipes though).

I know a meal planning service isn’t necessary but I like using one because it helps me keep variety in my diet by giving me recipes I might not gravitate towards if I was picking out from a list on a website. They have a free trial so you can make sure you like the recipes and features before you pay for it.

I am using her plan and am beyond grateful to have found it. It has been a game changer for me. I find the most value in her organization. I tried sticking to her meal plans and it was just too much food for me because I have never been a big eater. So.... that being said, if you do it don't just bust out and buy all the groceries on the list... just buy what you know you will make ;)

The program is reading intensive but very well organized. The way I approached it was to read through the material and re-organize it for myself in Excel and Word... because if you just print it from her website it is ridiculous and wasteful. You either have to be happy with accessing everything online as you need it or do what I did. The only things I refer back to now are recipes and workouts.

The biggest things are the substitutions and making sure I have the appropriate carbs/protein/fat/greens per meal, per day. I know I could go and figure all this out on my own if I researched it... but I am a HUGE procrastinator with major food issues (not eating balanced meals, not eating enough, eating out too much, loathing the process of buying and prepping food), which is why I needed something like this. I actually enjoy these things now.

I also like that I can follow her on instagram and I get daily reminders with no effort... and that is what I needed... a no fuss, low effort, easy, inexpensive (food and workout-wise) way to stay on track. For me, it has been the greatest gift I could ever ask for. I have never eaten this good or felt this good and my skin looks amazing. I will never go back to my old, wanton ways!!! <3<3<3

PS... No... she is not paying me for that comment ;) LOL

I haven't purchased her plans, but I follow her regularly and have done some of the fitness challenges. I like her approach to healthy living (fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness) and you can learn a lot just reading her blog.
