Treadmill brand recommedations?

Does anyone have any advice on which brand of treadmills for home use is best - or which ones to stay away from? Hoping to purchase one before the Minnesota winter sets in!

I like my Nordic Track quite a bit, personally.

Also, I would say go to the store and try them out. I tried out every elliptical that I read about online (that had good reviews) and then picked the one I was most comfortable with.

It is probably best to go try them out to see which one is more comfortable to you since treadmills are not equally designed. I did exactly this before I purchased the Pro Form model I did. The link is below.

My brother in law is the king of research for large purchases. Based on his research, one of the best home model treadmills on the market (for the money) is the Sole F63. They've had one for over 4 years, and I've had mine for a year. No problems what-so-ever, longer deck, motor is equivalent to what is in many commercial gym models. You can get it for 900-1000 delivered.

In my research, the models to stay away from included Pro-Form, Nordic Track, Health Rider.....

FWIW, I came close to getting a Sole (I think it was that same model, F63).

If you're looking for something on the lower price end, check out the Merit Fitness 725T. I got one about a year and a half ago, and it's perfect for what I use it for. The reviews were great for this price range too. The only downfall I remember reading is that the max weight is 200 lbs. A lot of people got it for their daughters or their wives to use.
