Discussions with religion and politics that don't end badly.

I gave my son a lil' advice when the subject of politics is brought up; simply say:

" Oh man, don't even get me started."

(so many people today try to bait other into a political conversation. it's futile because most everyone already has taken sides, right?)

anyway, the reply above is neutral and conveys the idea that: "I really don't want to talk about it." while not being rude. It also helps to laugh a little when you say it so it doesn't sound judgmental or mean spirited.

It's worked for me many times.

Also, it also works if the subject is something that you know little about, but don't want to seem uninformed.

    As In:

"So how about the Yankees pitching this year?"

"Oh, those guys? ...Don't even get me started."

Showing affection:) Grew up in a family in which zero affection was shown, sadly, I was like this with my son who is now an adult and I see the same trait in him. Too late to change? I find I avoid it with him because I sense it is uncomfortable for him and for me frankly..sigh..it is like a vicious cycle! Usually I don't dwell on it until I see/hear other people being affectionate with their kids.

Fortnite. Average one elimination maybe every 8th game, and no Victory Royale after hundreds of games.

Awh this is terrible. Fortnite is life.

I'm bad at folding fitted sheets. Those things just end up in a ball lol

I'm not sure anyone is good at folding those things! I simply flatten out each fold as best I can so it looks halfway decent and not like a bomb went off in my linen closet! :D

I've got a trick to folding fitted sheets. I saw it on one of those life hack videos. Works wonderfully

I went to a laundromat once and there is definitely someone out there in the world that knows how. He was folding them and I was left mesmerized lol

There are people who fold fitted sheets?! I “do my best,” knowing that in the long run, it’s just going to be stretched out over a mattress and no one will ever know anyway.

I always try to see the good in people, so much so I that I ignore the bad stuff, the red flags.

Me and also me, and they tie in with each other too often. I’m also very bad at choosing the right time to give up on things, or at least bad at choosing which things to give up on.

I am bad at remembering names. I can run into someone I've worked with for years and forget their name.

My wife knows that if we run into someone and I don't make introductions immediately, she steps forward and says, "Hi, I'm Jan" so that the person will introduce themselves to her.

Don't know why I have this problem remembering names. Guess that's why I call every guy "Buddy" , "Brother" or "Dude" and every gal "Honey."
