I have always felt like 135-145 would be my ideal range...maybe even up to 150ish, if I was happy there. Being 5'7.5 and apparently medium-framed, both charts seem pretty spot-on with that general range.

That's a very idealistic view of things. I think the ideal weight is what is healthiest for that person.

    This 👍

Meg, I love you, but I have to disagree. I was happy when I was 50 lbs overweight. It was not ideal

Although I see where you’re coming from I think it’s difficult or at least it is for me to feel happy when I don’t feel healthy, hence the response. I will never be 103lbs nor will I ever aspire to be. I am strong and healthy, I feel good and I’m not concerned about reaching a goal weight set by a chart that takes nothing but my sex and frame size into account.

We definitely agree that the charts are BS. You're just nicer than I :)

She's SO not nice. I read that somewhere today. Seriously. If it's on MFP it's GOT to be true.

    oh you're 100% right. I didn't mean she's "nice" just "nicer than I"

    subtle difference

Oh. I see. That some of that "new-antz" I hear them commies talkin' about? You a commie, Denny? You look like ya could surely be a gin-soaked Trotskyite popinjay. Say it ain't so.

You're making even less sense than usual. But usually you're at least funny.

I did like the reference though, but no gin for me, thanks.
Are you convinced I'm no pinko traitor yet?

Sorry, I just saw a painting on Twitter of Trump crossing the Potomac and it stirred a patriotic fervor in mah heart. We'll accept your word.

    For now.

Hi guys, what do you think is the ideal weight for a 20 year old female who's 5'3 and a half.

No such thing. BMI is a range in order to accommodate different frames as well as muscle mass or lack thereof. My wife is 5'3" and she sits at the higher end of her range...she has an athletic build and better than average muscle mass for a female.
