Hello! I was wondering HOW MUCH sodium you take in a day? As far as the limit goes.. I know too much sodium can be bad towards progress to weight loss.. i'm on a 1,200 calorie intake per day.. any responses would be helpful! Thanks!

the reccomended canadian daily value percentage is about 2200 - 2300 a day. try to eat raw foods. processed foods have a lot of sodium in them0

I aim for 2000 or less, BUT... more importantly, I aim to double my sodium intake in potassium. i.e. 2000mg sodium and 4000mg potassium or 3500mg sodium and 7000mg potassium. . The balance is more important than the volume.0

For a 1,200 calorie daily diet, you should be aiming for only 1800 sodium a day0

I didn't know this! I'm at 1200 and I eat some (sometimes all, sometimes none) of my exercise calories back.. just depends on the day I'm having. I try to keep my sodium at 2000 or below. I just notice a huge difference in my stomach and bloating when I watch it and keep it under 2000.
Lots of vegetables is my trick0 -
I've been trying to keep my sodium intake down and do pretty good on most days but the moment i go off and eat something not so healthy then my sodium goes through the roof(like this weekend when i was visiting my parents).0

I always just try to stay AWARE of the amound of sodium I take in...for me, if I have TOO much, I wake up the next morning with a 'swollen' feeling face and puggy little fingers.....so I know WOAH need to cut back today...:)
Good luck!!0 -
