Need Motivation to get started....

Hello all! I've been a member of MFP for a few years now. I managed to lose 83 lbs my first year using the app but regretfully I gained all the weight back and then surprise! I found out I was pregnant! Fast forward some time now, I have a 4 month baby boy along with an 8 year old son (whom I already had when I lost weight the first time around). I'm looking to get started again and my goal now is to lose a total of 100 lbs. That goal seem so distant and far away, but I know it can be done again because I have done it before, but motivation is always appreciated and welcoming!

Hiya, I have a 4 month old little boy too! My eldest is 17 months and I’d just lost my baby weight with him when I got pregnant with him. I still had 2 stone to lose then and now I’m back at square 1

Good luck! Make sure to keep yourself accountable (to you) and track EVERYTHING. Don't get down if you have a bad day (or week), it happens to everyone. Keep your long term goal in mind and work towards it.

We both have to start over, but I've realized getting started is the toughest part....it becomes like a habit after a while.

Thank you! I tend to beat myself up after a bad meal, but I've always heard "One bad meal will not make you fat, just like one healthy meal will not make you skinny, it's all about what you repeatedly do overtime."

In the same boat! Lost weight after my now 5 year old then gained it all and more after I had my second who is now 16 Months. We can do this again!! I’m on my 3 day of eating healthier and 2 weeks of going to the gym. I don’t look different but I can already tell I’m feeling better. The food is what gets me the most. Struggling to overcome these cravings. Good luck with everything!

I too have a 4 month old baby. A couple years ago I was at the lowest weight I've ever been. Then the weight started coming back on and I got pregnant. Now all of my baby weight is gone but I find myself still not being able to wear any of my clothes and I'm about 50lbs more than I was at my lowest.

What part of the day going to the gym works for you? I work full time and the evenings just seem unbearable because I'm exhausted after work.

I know the feeling! I have a closet full of clothes that I can not fit anymore. I have to rotate a few of the same outfits that I can fit to work every week :( but I refuse to buy new/bigger clothes so that's a good reason why I should lose weight, so I can fit into my clothes again lol

Awesome, it's always good to see someone who has a similar lifestyle as mine and trying to lose weight as well! It's gonna take a lot of motivation which I believe mostly comes from within ourselves, but we can do this! Best of luck to you!

You have the motivation, your two young sons! I am sure you want to be as healthy as you can to be there for them as they are growing up. Keeping up with two active, growing children will be easier at a healthier weight.
Your healthier eating style will be a good example for your boys.
Best of luck, you have done this before, so you know you can do it!

Well I too have been a member here for a few years. I don't have small children though and I have no excuse for gaining the weight that I have gained back other than Menopause. I am determined to get at least 25 lbs gone by Thanksgiving if not before. I need all the motivation and support that I can get and I will provide the same for anyone else that needs it!
