As a first grade teacher, you learn really quick that kids say exactly what they feel...whether it hurts your feelings or not.
So, today I was amazed and thrilled at the same time when one of the second graders (not even my last year's student) stopped me in the lunch line to say, "You done got skinny". I was like, "Wow" For a child to notice and then say something nice just made my day!

    That is so great! I have 6 year old twin boys and the oldest (by two minutes) and more outgoing of my duo told me the other day, "Mom! Look at you... I think you got taller". I said, "No baby, Mom just isn't quite so wide anymore" And we hugged :)))) Kids tell it like it is!
