Always had a chubby stomach

I’ve never had a flat stomach if I eat at a calorie deficient will I lose my belly fat or do I have to lift weights ? I dread weight listing what can I do instead to achieve a slimmer waist ?

It might be the last place you lose fat.

So will consistency be the only answer ?

As mentioned many people find the stomach to be one of the the last places they lose. Depending on your stats you want to eat in a deficit to lose weight. While lifting is most optimal for retention of muscle (including abs), bodyweight resistance work is good too. I think in another thread you mentioned BBG I haven't run it but it is cardio based with some resistance so it could help to get an overall fit look. Again.. depends on how much you have to lose, where you store fat and how defined/lean you want to get.

Not sure what your stats are, but for me:

I am 5' 5", currently 130lbs, but at my lowest weight (122 lbs) my stomach was disappearing!
I was 2 lbs away from my goal weight, but I blew it by celebrating with food (duh with a side of face palm!)

I'm on a quest to get back to 122lbs and then maintain. I'll celebrate this time with something other than food :D

Hi thank you for responding I’m 5 1 my lowest weight was 115 and I still wasn’t super skinny I’m currently 134 my highest was 2 months ago 140 still haven’t seen much a difference especially in my Stomach. I know my stomach is gunna be the last place I see weight loss but jeez how long is this gunna take ?? I know consistency is key but when I don’t see the scale move or any difference in my weight measurements I wanna just quit. I’m guessing 900 calorie deficient is enough for me to lose two pounds per month (one of the calculators told me) but I don’t want to eat to little and starve myself I also can’t eat over that or else I gain weight. Idk if I’m just meant to carry that weight in my stomach and it’ll never come off idk what to do I’m stuck !

Please don't eat so little! You should definitely not be losing 2lbs per week. You need to be at 1/2-1 lb per week with how little you have left to loose.

I totally get the urge to loose at much as possible and fast as possible, but you want long term success.

I was able to loose 20lbs by plugging my info into MFP and setting it at 1/2 per week and sticking to it.
I lost on 1400 calories and I ate back my exercise calories.
I have a desk job as my username suggests and I'm not super active, but 1200 or even less would have been torture.

Continue with a small deficit, for your height and current weight .5lbs a week would be ideal. (you could maybe manage a 1lbs a week deficit for 5-8 lbs)

Put your stats into MFP for 0.5 lbs, eat those calories, plus any you earn for exercise.

Weight lifting (heavy) is the most efficient way to to sculpt ones body, but if it is not for you you could do more of a conditioning (light to medium weight) type routine with bodyweight or dumbbell, Pilates, yoga, swimming, rowing machines, etc.

Choose something you like that isn't pure cardio and uses all of your muscles.

If you like dancing, try belly dancing. It's fun, and there is enough ab work involved that a beginner will see a change in their abs. It's good for improving posture too, which can really make a difference in how one perceives their stomach.

    Cheers, h.

You're only two pounds above an optimal BMI range for your height, so you don't have a lot of weight to lose. I would strongly recommend looking into recomp to build muscle and reduce fat, rather than focusing only on weight loss.
