My VO2 MAX is slowly improving.13

I scooped my dirty laundry into the washer this morning. It was gross, all cold, and wet from a week's worth of exercise sweat. I couldn't be happier.22

I'm so proud of everyone here! Great job!!
I ran a half marathon today!!! I did a personal best, too! 2 hours 50 min. It probably doesn't seem that fast to some, and I know I could have done better. But I am still happy with it! Honestly, best of all -- I only trained for like, 3 weeks. In the past I'd train for months and months and still perform and feel miserable. I'm sore right now, of course (my knees feel like they have softballs taped to them ), but otherwise I actually feel pretty good! I can't imagine I'll need long to fully recover. I maintained a great pace and felt good during, too.
For me right now, the NSV is knowing that my body (and mind too) has progressed to the point where I can just do stuff. Of course some planning and training will always be necessary for things. But not everything is such a major decision anymore; if I wanna sign up for a 5K or half or whatever, I just can!

Walked at least a mile, every day this week, no excuses.26
-
My pants kept falling down today.. think I need to do some shopping lol21

When I decided to go to the pool I didn't even think of driving. Walking was my default. I love mental/neurological victories.28

Walked just under 5 miles at the zoo, got over 10,000 steps while pushing a toddler in a stroller carrying a 10lb backpack. I am proud of myself Oct 17 I couldn't do that. We hopped on the tram and saw the zoo that way!!26

Saturdays are hard to log for me, it is busier than usual, more people around and bigger meals I have less control over. I was able to log everything pretty accurately today.21

75 minutes of non stop swimming yesterday afternoon and ~11 miles in a little over 3 hours of paddling SUP first thing this morning. Usually I take a rest day with maybe some walking between 2 things that strenuous.17

1. I pushed down my favorite pants without unbuttoning them! Just a few months ago, the were snug like sausage casings ...
2. To keep said pants up, I'm wearing a belt I haven't touched in 10 years. It's in the first notch, but I AM wearing it (and it shows me were I want to go -> three notches to go!).24 -
I have a few, today:
- we had a black out in the first half of the day. Very proud to state that I didn't panic about not being able to access MFP, and made the choice to simply write down what I ate on paper, to make careful, conservative food choices, with the plan to track it all once the power came back on. Then, it came back on before I had a chance to eat anything! I was so happy that I was prepared to make this work, no matter what, and do whatever it took to achieve my goals.
- I have endometriosis and this is the first period I've had in years where I could exercise more than stretching or yoga. I did cardio today and yesterday! Sorry for TMI, but I think I'm losing less blood, which means I get less dizzy, which means I feel safe to move up to cardio! I don't think I could manage weight training on my period, but this gives me hope that this too, might one day become possible.
- I've had the craziest hormonal cravings so far, in the past two days. I've been at this for around three months, I think? And this is the closest I have come to feeling like a binge. I stuck with low calorie snacks, still ate slightly more calories than I would have chosen to, but was still able to keep it within my calorie allowance. So, that was a proud moment, because I was so much hungrier than I usually get, and I really did need more food both those times.22 -
Little crease in my calf where I've been working out😍 muscle definition! Oh! And that strange fat lump on my neck/shoulders because of bad posture and stuff is shrinking!!!21

Despite being up a couple of pounds, my pants are still loose.

Saturday was my rest day. Still walked > 11,000 steps because I shopped the farmers market in the a.m. and we visited the botanical gardens to hunt down 12 giant Lego sculptures in the afternoon. Here's one:

This made me think, @hobbitses333 - "Only one? I have shoes and socks and shorts in one drawer - and another one stuffed full of T-shirts." Time for me to send some stuff to the thrift store, too. HAHA!

I am going to take a trip later this month, I wanted to pick up some shorts but the stores have removed their summer clothes. I waited too long.
A few months before I started MFP I donated several of my old jeans and slacks, I figured I would never fit into them again. I saved four pair of next size down jeans figuring *maybe* I could get into them *someday*.
Tonight I started thinking that I didn't look in the spare dresser when I donated the other pants. I found four pairs of old shorts in the dresser, I tried them on and they all fit! What shocked me is the smallest size with the stretchy waistband fit! Two sizes smaller than my 'current' size. I was happy. I had "new" clothes to wear for my trip that wouldn't slide down without a belt.
I thought about those next size down jeans in the closet. I tried all four pairs, I could easily button all of them. One pair was tight in the legs that is a fit/style issue not a waistband issue.
I have smaller pants/shorts to wear.
I have to admit my pants falling down without a belt made me feel good about my weight loss but maybe it is time to give up those baggy old jeans.28 -
I beat my PR on my annual (this is my fourth) sprint tri by five minutes, plus this was one of the first times that my mile pace got faster with each mile.
The real victory is how far I've come from the first, in terms of self confidence.
Today, before the race, instead of looking around for people larger and potentially slower (looks are very deceiving) than me, I looked around for people to talk to.
In that one, I was very self cautious about wearing a swim suit and made sure to put capris and a shirt over the swim suit for the non-swim part. This year, I had no issues with just riding the bike in my swimsuit w/out over clothes. I also did the run with just putting shorts over the swimsuit, solely for physical comfort.23 -
Walked for 30 minutes today with no soreness or discomfort. It's been less than 3 weeks since my surgery and I'm starting to feel like myself again.26

In the last 2 weeks I have gone from 5 to 7 pull ups and have managed 8 once. It took about 3 weeks to get from 4 to 5.22

My bra size has reduced from 110F to 85C. Thanks to that I found a lump in my breast. The doctor said that it has probably been there for a few years and was just hidden by all that extra fat. Thankfully it was benign but I am really glad I found it.41

It's amazing what all is under there! I found a weird cyst on my sternum when I lost weight. It was nothing important, just a sebaceous cyst which I had removed, but I had no idea it was even there before. I'm happy for you that your lump turned out to be benign!12 -
lost a total of 108 pounds

So, it's holiday season right. What's the thing many of us secretly hated about holidays - holiday snaps! My most recent NSV was when I realised I was really happy to be in the holiday pictures!!! I am a little less than half way along the journey - but when I saw the pics I thought 2 things:
1) I am looking so much better
2) These will be part of my future 'before' collage!
I finally am happy to be photographed! YIPPEE!!
(My NSV reward - I am going to print one of the family pics with me - full body - and print it to put up on the mantle)19 -
After looking back at the reports on here and seeing a lot of 'in the red', I realised that that was the reason for the gains I have had recently.
Pulled self together, got back tracking and caring enough not to just 'go over and make it up tomorrow'. Had last week averaging in the green, stuck to my weights and got 31.5kg bench press and 60kg deadlift. Very happy.
But mostly, I sat and browsed JustEat for around an hour this weekend (counted my shrapnel jar and have about £50) but I didn't order anything. I ate what was in cupboards and cooked stuff in the fridge. Weekends are a lot harder for me so I felt really good about that
Next challenge, move weights til after work tomorrow and Thursday so I am better fueled and can get the 65kg deadlift!19
