Round 50 GOAL = Maintain weight edging back down from the high part of my zone by getting workouts back in the mix.
8/16 - 127.0 - Yesterday under maintenance calories, clear enough after work to run; so I settled for am introductory 2 miles, then discovered I had the wrong key and ran 1.5 more.

8/20 - 127.6 - I keep missing days, both here and in logging. I am lucky I have not gained more. Smoke in the valley is significant, headache pain, fighting with a new pillow that's increased neck and shoulder pain. Too beat up for self-care, that's the conundrum. Back at it today. Yesterday made myself do a large canning project in spite of migraine. Garden waits for no one. So at least I was on my feet and active much of the day.18 -

8/16 155.2 Weak start as far as my eating yesterday for this challenge as I overindulged and did not track my meal last night, but it was good. I expect a bump up tomorrow from the carbs (rice, garlic bread, alcohol, ice cream)
8/17 156.2 Yesterday another wth day, ate well all day until after dinner toast with butter, ice cream, basically a binge. Not really sure what is going on, but if I had to guess I would say...I am feeling bored and am seeking "variety" through eating, plus that "full" feeling when you eat a lot of carbs. As I was eating the ice cream it didn't even taste that good or satisfy, but I finished it anyway. I guess it's why I am here. It's hard sometimes to deal with the relationship with food. It's not like we can go cold turkey and stop eating. One day at a time.
8/18 155 Woke up with a migraine- movies last night, popcorn. Eating still not good. Dairy causing breakouts. Headaches. Body is telling me.
8/19 154.2 Stayed down most of yesterday recovering from the migraine, it's so strange how our bodies choose to let go of weight. I have had a "bad" week so far eating macros and over calories, yet I am now dropping. Just another lesson to trust the process and stay the course. I am not beating myself up for induging, because I am not on a diet. I am merely making smarter choices with occasional treats. My whole life I have done the yoyo, though this is the highest (171) I let myself go. Where I usually run into problems is not in losing the weight, that is the easy part. The hard part is when I am thin and I think I can just eat whatever I want. And there it comes back again. The only time I really maintained was when I was a runner, though I lacked tone. I have not gotten myself active again though it is necessary as part of the whole picture, but school starts next Tuesday so there will be no more excuses then!
8/20 Weigh in Day 154.6 Down 1 lb since last weigh in. I found some notes from 2009 with my weight and measurements, I weighed 147 and am curious to see what my measurements will be now 9 years later when I reach that number. I better get my butt moving if I want to match or beat them since for sure I was running back then!

8/16--220.4. This is why I find weighing everyday very helpful. Looking back at my weight from last round I now know that water weight from my excessive carb snacking took 2 days to show up on the scale and 1 day to go away. Now for the next time this happens, because at some point it will happen again, I now know not to stress over the temporary water weight gain. Now tonight is dinner and a movie, so I know there will be a temporary gain, but to help reduce some of the water weight gain my game plan is to eat lighter before dinner, drink only water including during dinner, plan what I will eat for dinner ahead of time, and take the dog out for a walk when I get back from the movie (the air here is starting to clear up).
8/17--220.4 I am happy to say that other than taking 3 sips from my husband's drink at dinner, I did everything that I had planned to do. I didn't want to take the dog out for a walk after the movie, but then I knew that I had posted it here yesterday, so I went out for the walk and I am happy that I did. I call yesterday a NSV.
8/18--219.7 This morning I am going out to breakfast to one of my favorite breakfast places, but like my dinner and movie night 2 days ago, I have a plan. I am going to an early Kettlebell class before breakfast, I will go for a walk of at least 2 miles after breakfast, I will eat lighter for the rest of the day, and I will go for a walk and/or bike ride in the evening.
8/19--219.3 Yesterday, I did everything from my plan. I also finished organizing the entry way, even though it did take longer than I had hoped. Other than a bike ride this morning and a long walk later today, my plan is to relax for most of the day.
8/20--220.0 My stomach is feeling unsettled today, hopefully it will work itself out by tomorrow. Week long step competition with sister-in-law is back on starting today even though the air is hazy from the fires. The air should be clearing up late Wednesday, so I will have to adjust until then. I'm going for a short walk at lunch today and then Zumba tonight.

8/18- 160.2lbs I weighed first thing this morning & was so happy to see this number. I was in disbelief & stepped off & on about 5 times no lie just to see the same number appear. But after 20 mins I decided to weigh again just to be sure 🙄 & it read 161.2lbs 😭 so I dont know which one to go by hoping the lower number is correct of course. So if the lower number is correct I’m officially down to pre pregnancy weight. But a huge goal for me will be to get out of the 60s because from grade 10(I think age 15/16) to 22 I been 160 - 165lbs. So it would be amazing to finally see number that’s not in the 60s
8/19- 162lbs😒 hmm I was feeling so disappointed when I saw this number this morning. Earlier today not so good, I ate things I knew I shouldn’t have. But I did manage to stop myself from binge eating. For dinner I’m going to take things light with chicken and some steamed veggies. Hope I’m back down tomorrow.
8/20- 162lbs tired of seeing this number getting a bit discouraged to getting to my goal of 158lbs by the end of the round. Hopefully I see progress tomorrow.

8/16 / 248.8 / Rolled back into my town last night. The drive from Alaska was wonderful, but obviously a lot of sitting on my kiester. I did eat to plan about 70% of the time. I figure these 3.4 pounds should come off pretty easily, and then it will be back to the grind.

@tiabirdie56 yes! It was a great feeling! My sister has lost some weight as well but she has a lot more weight to lose than me. Shes taking prescribed weight loss pills to help her, not changing her eating habits or exercising. Although I don't judge people for doing that, I am very proud of myself for doing everything on my own and not relying on pills.4 -

8/17 149.5 Yippie skippy, my migraine is gone, finally. The smoke from the fires in BC is going away from the coast and they took my headache with them. I can’t imagine how horrible it is for all the folks living in smoke for weeks. 3 days just about did me in.

8/19 148.5 yippie! Two weeks of zero movement so I went down 200 cals. a day and finally seeing progress again. It doesn’t make sense cico but I am happy to see that darn scale move. I really was wondering if it was just stuck!

@cdavisdeva, Yes, I have always felt that a person should take time to LEARN how to eat while losing weight. My DH uses Medifast. I don't like him using that weightloss method, because he doesn't learn how to eat properly. Six times a day he eats powdered "foods" mixed w/water, sweet protein bars or protein snacks that are called a meal. His actual food is a meal of a small salad with fish, meat or poultry and a meal of fish, poultry or meat with 1 cup of cooked vegetable. He has lost almost as much weight as I have but in only 4 months.6

8/20 - 181.6 An Absolutely awful day yesterday on this journey. Knowing this business trip is coming up and that my macros will be out of control, I went on an absolute binge (again). Someone brought in filled donuts (my biggest trigger for every reason known to man) and it put me into an absolute trance. After that, I just don’t know what happened. I was like a zombie. A ravenous zombie. Well, I promised to keep it honest so here goes: YESTERDAY’S STATS: 215 Net Carbs. 1980 Calories In / 2727 Calories Out. 17,285 total steps. 7.32 total miles. 13 13/ (250) fitbit hours. Only fasted about 12 hours before caving to the donuts. As you can see, lots of movement but also lots of food. I am not proud but will continue to share my strengths, my weaknesses and all the trophies, as well as the scars of my journey. Just trying to stay positive here. I am still down 53 pounds this year. I may not do this easy, but I will do it. But I want to do more than just lose the weight. I want to change my bad habits forever. I continue to be a work in progress. During my business trip I will do my best to log food and post when able. I will not be able to weigh until the morning of the 25th and I do not expect that to be a pleasant experience.

8/16, Thursday – Last leg of my trip home, long smoky drive from mid Alberta to Kootenays in BC. At one point had one-lane traffic because of fire near the road but overall just hot with smoky haze.
8/17, Friday – 160.2 Did not gain in my couple of weeks away!! Headache and dead tired from all the driving so will take it easy for a couple of days but stay mindful on the eating.
8/18, Saturday – 160.6 Well, did not stay very mindful on the eating, ate chocolate almond spread on corn thins for an evening “snack” – not even supposed to eat in the evening because of invisible GERD. (Called “invisible” because the discomfort from it is so minor that you can ignore it but it does affect your esophagus over the long term.) I have a stressful wedding coming up in 2+ weeks and, of course, nothing to wear that is even close to suitable. Need to get my head in the right space so it doesn’t end up in emotional eating. I can do this. Going shopping today. There are very few options around here but I thought of one so will check that out. Could sew something but that is always iffy.

8/20, Monday – 160 I don’t think I deserve this, but I will take it and try to keep it! Yesterday was definitely a zombie day with erratic eating. Always takes me awhile to get back to normal after a long trip so I’ve learned to be patient with myself, do what I can, and know that my energy will come back once I get enough rest. Shopping trip was a partial success, found a sheer overshirt in a small designer’s shop where they alter for free. Not cheap but no worse than the big chain stores.

8/16 - 147. Post and run today, but I'll be back later tonight to read all of the posts ahead of mine. I started SL 5x5 this week with the tiniest amount of weight on my barbell and did my second session last night. Looking forward to getting stronger and adding more weight to my lifts.
8/17 - 146. Happy to see the lower number, I can get back into most of my big clothes now and am wearing a pair of jeans today that I haven't worn in a year. Oops, I'd even outgrown my larger sizes there for a bit! The clothes that currently fit me are the hardest worn, it's the size that I never want to shop. I bought 5 pairs of even larger pants near the beginning of round 47 (round 1 for me) and now they are all loose.
8/18 - 147. Quick weigh in the morning, then away from computer and scale for the weekend. Lovely day at the lake.
8/19 -147. Away from scale and computer. Visited my parents' house and my city pup forgot everything he'd ever learned about acting civilized. He ran, he barked, he lunged at birds, and rolled in smelly stuff. He ate a shrew, a plum (complete with pit) and who knows what else that he found on the ground. Normally, being at mom's house equates with lots of mindless snacking for me. I guess the pup took on that role for me this time! Haha.
8/20 - 147. This number is starting to feel familiar. Counting it as a victory to be out of town for the weekend, not feel deprived, and not gain.

I hope it is just water retention. I generally eat between 1200 (MFP allotment) to 1600 (exercise calories 400). I don't have a problem personally eating them, they keep me from binge eating. My body is still really sore from all the walking, and carrying this weekend so I wonder if that is playing a part in it too. Was just bummed had it in my mind I would see this amazing number. Trying to remind myself I did see an amazing number, the exercise I got Saturday was amazing. That number is more important than my 1 day of gain.4 -
@tiabirdie56 Thank you! This inflammation reduction is a slow world in progress - just starting Terry's Naturally Curamin Extra Strength supplement per my new doctor - hoping it will help along with everything else. I may end up having to take the prednisone, but I'm hoping to avoid that.2

@SheilaBoneham, Mmm, I'm gonna have to look into that supplement. Very interesting. You'll definitely be in my prayers tonight for no prednisone. I have never taken it. I know sometimes it's necessary, but I don't care for the negative that comes along with the good.3 -

8/16 - Thursday - 187.0* - As much as I'd like to base my goal of this number not yesterdays - I know that's not realistic. I didn't eat enough yesterday as it was too hot to cook and I didnt have an appetite either. I also weighed on not my scale again and tomorrow will be on my scale, so I'm taking all these numbers as data, but not very specific data. Like I said last round - more focus on my mental health these days. No lunch packed as I'm VERY in limbo - DH wants moes for lunch and I started panicking that it wasnt healthy and would cost too much. But guess what - it is what it is! So instead, I'm rejoicing that I get to eat a quesadilla and realizing that I already planned a little financial cushion this week because we need to eat and cooking thru this is not realistic. I definitely have a caloric cushion too because I've been undereating surprisingly these past few days.
8/17 - Friday - 189.0 - Moving day. Hot. Humid. Thunderstorms. Got it done. We are bruised and battered but I am in awe of what I accomplished. Saying thanks to my body for being the beast I forgot it could be. I did one season of heavy lifting way back when and would love to get back into it! I definitely didnt expect moving to make me love my body more but it did.
8/18 - Saturday - 186.5* - ate fried chicken after completing what felt like a heroic feat of a move. Unpacking some boxes today but taking it easy. Havent been sore like this in a long time but I don't mind one bit. a reminder of what I accomplished. Went grocery shopping for some things for the week.
8/19 - Sunday - 189.5* - Made a nice big breakfast, but not much of an appetite. Enjoyed the morning at the new house with DH and coffee on the porch though. Went out to run errands and get some yard working supplies. Took the pup to the local arts and crafts fair. Came home and had a light lunch of leftovers and walked. Took back my bird watching shed from the rhododendron that was trying to eat it and did some weeding. Shook out the rugs and brought them all in. DH took me out for ice cream at our new local farm! Pup got one too and we watched the cows in the field. Home for dinner (we ate backwards ) and DH cooked chicken quesadillas while I made some more progress on Laundry and closets. Can't believe what we accomplished in one weekend. Plenty of house projects to keep us busy like that for the next 30 years!
8/20 - Monday - 189.0* - Need to bring my scale to the house! Getting back to a routine, or trying to atleast! Lots of projects going on! Happy to be maintaining!

8/16 — 138.2 — Got sick with what I think was food poisoning last night, still not at 100%. Scale will probably go back up tomorrow when I feel like I can eat again 🤢
8/17 — 138.8 — I was able to eat again yesterday, and actually ended up getting chipotle last night. I’ve been doiong so well eating at home and not out, so was bummed I gave into temptation. However, after after the night I had before I gave myself a pass. Back to being hydrated and I’m shocked the scale didn’t go up more than it did. Pretty happy overall. 😊
8/18 — 138.4 — I really tried to focus on drinking tons of water today. Stayed under my calories for the day, but generally had a lazy day at home. 🙃
8/19 — 138.8 — Kept my calories in my normal range yesterday, going out to lunch and to a concert today so will try my hardest to make good decisions while I’m out.. 😬 wish me luck, haha. On a side note: I am loving this challenge, it makes it easy and fun to keep myself accountable. Thank you 🙏🏼 to the person who thought of this great idea💡!
8/20 — No weigh in — I did okay yesterday besides having 4 glasses of wine through the day and night. Feel bloated today, but didn’t go too over my calorie limits. Today was my first day back to school so I completely forgot to weigh myself since the schedule change!

8/17: 163.2 - I had a good day yesterday until nighttime came and ate ice cream. Still under calories but need to stay away from it.
8/18: 163.1 - I got all my exercise in and ate well.
8/19: 165 - UGH!! I waited up for my teenage daughter to come home and ate mini Milky Ways to stay awake. Then I couldn't get to sleep so I ate bread and butter. Hopefully this is only a one day thing. Got lots of exercise today!
8/20: 163.5 - Going back to where I started but at least it came right back off. Logging and exercising today. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Pretty sure I didn’t eat 7000+ calories yesterday so no worries. It felt good to have some indulgent food but back on track today. Upped the protein and kept the carbs lower than usual.15 -
@CathyVee You would have to eat 7000+ calories to gain 2.6 pounds in a night???? I eat 1200 calories everyday and see a 3 lb gain if I indulge to closer to 2000 (which isn't hard to do on pizza nights or any other day of take out)
