How do folk record for example a half hour excercise class focusing on abs/core ??

Depends.
If the class was made up of circuits, I’d use Circuit Training.
If mostly bodyweight moves, I’d use Calisthenics.3 -
I agree with Shadow2soul.
I tend to log my ab-focused workouts as Calisthenics when in doubt, as that gives me the lower burn and keeps me from overestimating my net calories. I judge if it is "light/moderate" or "vigorous" by my breathing rate at end of workout.0 -
