Weight loss is completely based off what you eat. Exercise is great for the heart, diabetes and mental health, but terrible for weight loss. It makes you hungry and you end up eating more calories than you have burned.3

Exercise ISN'T terrible for weight loss. While one can overeat because they feel more famished from it, exercise is ESSENTIAL for good health. If one just loses weight from diet alone, they not only lost fat, but they lose lean muscle tissue as well. That LOWERS your metabolic rate which means you burn less body fat at rest. Not to mention you lose strength as well. It's why lots of aging people who are thin and don't exercise have issues when they fall down from not being able to support their weight because leg strength is non existent. Also with exercise, one can actually create a higher calorie deficit allowing them to be able to eat more. So your statement isn't accurate because there are lots and lots of people who exercise and have lost weight as well enhanced their overall health.guidingspiritrl wrote: »Weight loss is completely based off what you eat. I used to exercise 2 hours a day. Never lost one pound. Changed my eating and lost 163.0

I've lost 28 pounds and I feel better more from when I'm exercising regularly then from the pounds gone..0

I did say exercise is good for mental health. May be why you feel better when exercising.1

Lots of people do that. I had clients who NEVER changed until I showed them that they were consuming all the calories they were burning. CALORIE DEFICIT is what causes weight loss so as long as you consume LESS than you burn, you'll lose weight.guidingspiritrl wrote: »I used to exercise 2 hours a day. Never lost one pound. Hurray for what you have accomplished! That's fabulous!
FYI, some of us have to do both the exercise and the careful eating. We all have different genetics, gut biome, hormones, etc., and what worked for you won't do it for everybody.
I do agree that you can't lose weight without careful eating. I haven't met anyone that could get results without careful eating.
But not all of us can move the needle much without exercise. (With we could!)0 -
It's also BETTER for overall physical health. Can you do a pull up or push up? If you can't then it's likely because even at a normal weight, you lack strength to do it.guidingspiritrl wrote: »I did say exercise is good for mental health. May be why you feel better when exercising.

Just look up calories burned from each exercise and see how few calories each exercise burns. If you are a marathon runner, then you will burn enough calories, otherwise exercise is for health and not for weight loss.0

You're not understanding what I'm saying. If someone's BMR (basal metabolic rate) is say 1500 calories, if they ate 1200 calories, they can lose weight. If that same person exercised for an hour and burned 400 calories, they could eat 1600 calories and still lose weight. It's about MATH. As long as one is in a calorie deficit, they'll lose weight. If you weren't losing weight from exercising 2 hours a day, it's because you WEREN'T in calorie deficit or the deficit was too extreme.guidingspiritrl wrote: »Just look up calories burned from each exercise and see how few calories each exercise burns.
