GO4IT Challenge September 2011
Knowing that not all people will use walking/running as their chosen physical activity, you can use the below activity levels to convert your activities into “miles” during the GO4IT Challenge.
Rules:
Challenge will be closed after 75 participant
Report your “miles” weekly to organizer “sueozzy” (Report on Sunday – first official posting and reporting date will be September 10th)
When signing up please also specify YOUR goal miles for the month…. This is to Challenge YOURSELF to meet your GOAL!
Sign up early so that the challenge can be organized and ready to go by Sept. 1st.
Level 1 Light Activity
Gardening, bowling, golf(without cart) slow treading in pool 20 minutes of Activity = 1 mile
Level 2 Moderate Activity
Softball, weightlifting, dancing, racquetball, tennis, volley ball, yoga, rollerblading, swimming recreational 20 min of Activity = 2 mile
Level 3 Vigorous Activity
Exercise classes (spinning, step, kickboxing, body pump, circuit training) Basketball, soccer martial arts, boxing, swimming fast laps 25 minutes of Activity = 3 miles
Running and Walking
Report Actual Miles
Biking
3:1 Ratio Report 1 mile for every 3 biked

I would love to join, I have never done a GO4IT challenge.
I am 5'2", just barely overweight (but huge for my size ) at 137, have had a completely sedentary lifestyle thusfar and would like to change that a bit.

I forgot to post my goals. I have an exercise bike so most of that will be on it. I plan to do around 10 miles a day biking, so that is like 100 miles counted on this for a month. I think I did the math right .0

I currently run 3.5 miles 5-6 days a week on average. That would be around 70-75 miles so I'm going to challenge myself to hit 100 miles for the month of September.0 -
Wow! There are some high goals in this challenge. I'm going to get half of my miles from workout dvd and half from C25K so I'm thinking around 100.0
