    It looks like you might be burning treated wood? Treated wood has poisonous smoke.

    Its 100% pressure treated. Looks like it was stained too

    Was it some leftover wood from the jealous neighbor's "new" fence?

    Old deck wood, and I haven't died yet. Pretty sure the alcohol kills the carcinogens.

    FYI - For many years, the most common preservative mixture used for treated wood was CCA, a combination of chromium, copper and arsenic. When wood treated with this preservative is burned, some of the arsenic is released into the air with the fly ash, and the rest is concentrated in the ash that remains in the fireplace.

    Too much arsenic ash in the air probably. Must have had a seizure and accidentally hit the flag button.
