OMAD, Colonics, Weightloss, Fertility - Staying Motivated

I am the definition of a Yo-Yo Dieter. I've tried everything from Low carb, Low Calories, Master Cleanse, Weight Watchers, Eating Healthy & Gym, Personal Trainer, 5 Small Meals, Keto, Paleo, Fat Freezing, Wrapping the body. You Name it, I've done it. 29 Years Later, i'm still searching for a diet I can stick to.

I feel like I've been uncomfortable in my body since High-school. This has been a forever battle. I can safely say i have trouble sticking to a diet past 3 weeks to 1 month. When i do see results sometimes i get so excited i eat whatever to celebrate. That celebration ends up lasting a few weeks and then i end up gaining it back, if not even more.

My Husband is my biggest support system. He also is my best friend. We both are pretty overweight and have decided to join this journey together. Our families overall are pretty slim and slender, and both of us are considered the odd ones out. We definitely feel emotionally hurt when people say things to us, which is why we want to make this change together.

We recently got married and this has been a very exciting time for me and my husband. Amongst all the excitement we realized we want to build a family. Some of my closest friends who are married and have been married for 5 years are all suffering from infertility issues. They've mentioned to me a few times that, in order to have a baby you need to be fit and healthy (i'm assuming they're telling me this because they feel i'll have issues being overweight). I'm not sure if this is the case for me, however i just know me and my husband need to get healthy in order to raise a family, let alone make or carry a baby.

My mission here is to keep my motivation alive this time and to see myself get pregnant in the process.

A few months back i did IF (intermittent Fasting - 19:5) That actually worked really well for me and managed to lose 12lbs in 20 days. I of course gained it all back during the wedding season. Now 2 months after our wedding I decided to start OMAD (One Meal a Day) - both me and jay (my husband) are doing it together. For the purpose of this "discussion" i am just tracking my results.

Started OMAD: Wednesday Aug 29th 2018
Weight: 198lbs
Height: 5'2
Goal Weight:120lbs
Weight loss Required: 78lbs
Gender: Female

Yesterday was my First Colonics session (Sept 5th, 2018) and i have scheduled a second Colonics this upcoming Sunday. We've signed up for 10 Colonics to clean my colon while i do OMAD. Not sure if this is beneficial but i hope so. Hoping before the new year i'll see some significant results. (That's of course if i stick to it)

I'll track my weight this weekend and provide an update. So far i'm feeling good. Started Last Wednesday. On Sunday we went to Detroit so i ended up eating throughout that day. However, i Jumped back on OMAD on Monday.

Hoping to see some drastic results.

Has anyone else done OMAD? Has anyone done Colonics? What were your results.

    Hope that the colonics won't make uyou dependent on laxatives to poop

    Why put yourself through that? Clearly fad diets are not going to work, so perhaps try thinking of it as a lifestyle change, not a "diet". Otherwise you'll just yo-yo when you stop abusing your colon and start eating more than one meal a day.

    I've noticed a big change in my waist size after the first Colonics. What was interesting is i went to colonics hungry (I was waiting to eat my one meal after the session) and when i left i wasn't feeling hungry and i also had alot of energy in me, like i could run a marathon.

    @singingflutelady I definitely do not want to be dependent on Colonics, my main focus is OMAD and eating clean during that one meal. Colonics is just for my internal organs and their health.

    What health benefits are there supposed to be that going to the toilet normally wont provide?

    Is OMAD something you can use to lose weight AND also something you can do to keep it off? Look for some
    forever changes. To coin a popular phrase here - temporary changes lead to temporary results.

    How do colonics help your internal organs? Unless you have a serious GI disease your colon is got at clearing itself.

    maybe I've just done a lot of research on Colonics and personally heard and seen peoples results from it. I wanted to give it a try and also see if i can see and experience those benefits. Guess people feel very negative toward colonics? I still want to give it a try.

    Thanks. The struggle is real. I never ever expected this to happen. I don't know if I would have listened to this advice when I was engaged in these behaviours but at least I would have been warned.

    OP, please skip the colonics. That is a slippery slope you do not want to start down.

    If you insist on following another diet and doing OMAD, that's fine. The most you should expect to lose to start out is 2 lbs per week, and honestly I think 1.5lbs per week would be more realistic. As you lose weight it will continue to slow down a bit. The key to weight loss/maintenance is calories, so get your stats and goals in correctly and hit that calorie goal. Some people have trouble eating enough calories, protein, and fat in one meal. If that happens, please understand that undereating is just as unhealthy as overeating and add another meal.

    If yo-yo dieting has been a pattern for you, the best thing you can do for yourself is learn a realistic and enjoyable way of eating and activity level that will keep you at the right calorie level for the rest of your life. Best of luck!

    Some of this stuff might not be what you want to hear, but people aretrying to help :flowerforyou:
