Holiday weight not going down

This August was very hard for me because I had 4 mini holidays in a month and ate loads of food. The scale says I'm back at 154lbs which is scary because it took me so long to get down to 147lbs. I've gained 7 lbs? I've been eating at a deficit for 5 days now and I've been exercising and the scale still hasn't budged. It's still 154lbs. I would've thought that by now the weight would've dropped off? It's been almost a week

Give it a full week and also be aware that many women retain water when they ovulate and premenstrually.

Okay how long do you think I should take to lose the weight?

Some of that weight gained will be water, some fat, depending how much over you were eating the past month.
Did you just start exercising after that break? Fluid retention can mask loss for a few weeks. Give it more time, a few weeks and readjust.

I'm fine with gaining 1-2lbs of fat. Yes I did start exercising this week mainly lifting weights.

It sounds like you think that this is mostly a temporary water weight bump such as might occur from a salt-heavy day. However, since it was multiple calorie overages spread over a month, it might be that almost all of those 7 pounds is regained fat.

It may take a month or two or more of a calorie deficit to make up for that month of calorie surplus.

Well that’s depressing... so I overate by 24500 calories?!

That's quite possible with "had 4 mini holidays in a month and ate loads of food." That would be an average daily surplus of ~817 calories.

I overate on 14 of those days. I definitely don't look 7 lbs fatter. I'm hoping it's mostly water weight due to TOM and exercise

I actually gained 6lbs of fat on my summer holiday this year. I hope in your case it's just water but there is the possibility that it isn't.
I overate by about 1000cal a day. Which for a completely sedentiary me comes to 2500cals of food a day. Which is very easy to do unfortunately. I didn't feel stuffed or anything on any of the days. Just a bit of alcohol here and there which I otherwise don't drink, more desserts than usual and some snacks. 1000cals is nothing.

But if it's been only a week for you it may still drop. It's been 3 months for me and it is deffinitely not water.
    (I'm 139lbs for reference)

I feel your pain, throughout the summer I've taken 3 mini vacations too and yes I ate a lot so now I'm up 6 solid pounds which doesn't sound like much but since I have such little to lose as it is to me these 6 pounds are a huge setback

Well I just dropped down to 153lbs today so I'm going to give it one more week. I tried to walk as much as I could during the holidays!
