Hi, I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week noe for about 4 months. I spend most of my time in the treadmill and occasionally basketball. I want to add weights or other exercise to help further my progress. I am looking for a suggestions of a work out routine that I can do at the gym or at home. My goal is to slim down and gain more definition. I am 5' 5 , 160 lbs. Goal weight is about 135 as suggested by Google lol.

I'd go with stronglifts (stronglifts.com). It is a basic 5x5 program that works for just about everyone.

But realize that exercise is not a cure for poor food choices. Weight loss will come from what and how much you eat. The lifting is about strength and maintaining (maybe gaining) muscle.

Dont do treadmill. Impacts knees, joints etc. Cant go gym consecutively over a long period. Do Cross-trainer (or "Elliptic trainer") instead - exercises your arms, back too as well as legs, glutes.

For the best replies I would suggest you start your own thread.

Basically, think about what your fitness goals are and what you like to do.
If you don't know at this point, try a bit of everything for a couple of weeks, then pinpoint where your interests lie. A mix of cardio and strength is good.

    Cheers, h.

What are your fitness goals? You'll want your training to move you in that direction.
