Hi. I’m just getting back onto MFP after a long break that I can barely remember what to do.
Firstly have MFP changed the way they calculate calories?
Also do we, or can we use the calories we earn from exercise?

Welcome back. This is my first day back on MFP in ages as well. I don't think MFP has changed the way it calculates calories. Even if they calculations are different, it's just a starting point that is an educated guess. Just monitor and adjust accordingly.

Some people do figure out their exercise calories and add those back in to their daily calorie limit. Personally, I think this adds more math, confusion, and margin of error.... not to mention creating the mindset that exercise equates to eating more.

    good luck!

Thanks for your reply. It’s all a bit confusing right now. Good luck to you too 😉

If you are referring to how MFP calculates calories used in various activities, I have read many posts that say MFP over-estimates. I usually eat back only half of my exercise calories for that reason. ;)
