Didn't feel my legs as much as I had from previous rides hours to the next day after when going downstairs in my home.
Just might get a century ride in before the end of the season this year.
Wow! Out of curiosity how long does a 53 mile ride take? Never went that far !
Just over 3.5 hours according to my Fitbit Surge.
According to Map My Ride, which tries to auto-stop the clock if I'm stopped due to traffic and what not, it claimed 2:27 for the 34.9 miles up to the brunch stop and 1:07 for the 18.4 miles back.
Fought with wind and rode with a slower rider for 21 of the 34.5 miles up or my speed would have been faster.
I averaged 16.5 MPH with a full belly on the way back. Wind helped a bit, but still had some cross winds which negate some of the help.
I do know that dropping 50# has added 3-4 MPH to my average speeds.16 -
This one feels kind of vain, but I am almost having trouble accepting what I see in the mirror as reality. A year ago I was overweight and out of shape. Over the fall, winter and spring I lost 60 pounds. Walking was my only exercise during that period. I have lost 8 more since then. I have been paddling SUP and swimming as my primary exercises spring and summer and only joined a gym in the last few days. This morning I was doing a circuit training class. Two of the positions have you facing the mirror wall doing arm and upper body work. My shoulders and arms are pretty much nothing but muscle. Not body builder huge or anything, but when under load and flexed, the veins are on top and there are grooves between the muscles; they are very clearly defined. I don't stand around flexing in front of mirrors and literally had no idea I had this much muscle definition. It still seems like a fantasy even though I am sure of what I saw.36

I'm impressed with the HALF peach, I would find not eating the whole peach much tougher than passing up on ice cream - fruit addict here 😁15 -
I tried on some old clothes in the back of my closet from high school- fancy designer clothes my mom and I got on sale on some of our last shopping trips together where we went to this fancy tea shop and got the best scones of my life. 😋 we had planned these clothes for upcoming weddings, but they would have needed to be hemmed a bit and we never got that done. So I’ve had them in my closet for a long time. And they fit!!! It’s been 7 years since I could fit into these things 👀33

The fact that I was able to say "you do you and I will do me" to a coworker that was trying to "help" me with my weight loss. This is not something that I would normally do. I would sit and listen and then be gullible enough to try some stuff.
Thanks for the tools and the confidence boost guys!43 -

fitting into jeans I was wearing when I met my husband 14 years ago30

I was also able to get into my class A uniform Army uniform that I've not worn since 1992.
I have some BDUs in the basement I think. I'll try getting into those as well if I can dig them up.26 -
Another belt hole bites the dust!

After having to get a new belt, I just got one that didn’t have holes. Infinite adjustments now available.16

I think that is awesome that you date the holes. (Woo as in woo-hoo.)
I extended the life of my belt, I drilled holes into the belt. My goal is to be able to wrap the end around to my left side.16 -
15 days binge free!46

Fitted into a dress I last wore in 2016. Not flattering but it zips up.23

I was standing at work in them they were only touching my hips and as I walked around they slipped lower and lower. They are so loose they feel a little like wearing sweatpants heh heh! I am doing it..I really am losing weight!
Doesn't it feel amazing?! My pants from last winter were cutting into my stomach and leaving a mark. I wore the same pants today and felt a little embarrassed that I didn't wear a belt. They were obviously too big and baggy.... and falling off me. We're doing it!20 -

I'm 60 years old and recently left my husband and moved to another state.
Yesterday in the market produce section a man seriously hit on me. He said he saw me and knew he would regret it if he didn't introduce himself. I was shocked and told him that I'm flattered, but married. Did I mention that he has to be at least 20 years younger than me?
Too bad that I'm no where ready to date, but it sure made my day better!48 -
About two months ago I tried on some smaller waist band pants I had in the closet, I was happy they fit. These were the pants I felt that maybe someday I could get back into. My previous pants were baggy and needed a belt, these smaller pants fit but were snug. Today I discovered that these pants will slide down without a belt.
If I could find my old message I would link to it. In the spring before I thought about changing how I ate, before I joined MFP I cleaned out my closet and donated a lot of pants because I never thought I would fit in them again. At my current rate I am sure I could fit in them by the end of the year. I guess that is always the way it is, get rid of something and you will find a need for it. Some of those clothes were 25 years old.16 -

I did the same thing, donated all my old smaller clothes two years ago thinking I’d never be that size again since I haven’t been in twelve years, well here I am wishing I’d kept those old clothes, especially the beautiful dresses I used to have

I almost did the same thing ... I had two vintage leather jackets from back in the day when I was young and cool that I'd never gotten rid of because they were great finds. I'd donated several things that got to small over the years but these were 'curated pieces', for lack of a better way of expressing it. I mean that they were great finds and a bit special and hard to let go of even when I was fully convinced I'd never get back to that size. A few years ago I actually resolved to finally let go of them *knowing* it was over. Too many years had passed, my weight was too far gone to get back to, etc. I actually thought i DID get rid of them but apparently I never got around to it because I found them in a closet at my mom's house during a visit this past weekend and *BOOM* they (basically) fit again!!!!!! A touch tight around the hips but I'm basically there. It's been 22 or 23 years ...26 -

So then, I found a great skirt and an absolutely stunning blouse for the wedding. The skirt fit fine, but the blouse was way too tight in the bust and arms. I found another blouse that fit okay, and wore it and the skirt to the wedding.
The wedding was lovely, BTW, and I guess it's part of what inspired to me lose weight. I went through my closet a couple of days ago to get rid of the stuff that's too big, and that stunning blouse fits me now!
I'm planning to wear it to Thanksgiving at my mom's, if it's not already too big. And, if I'm very lucky, my sister will have left the faux-wrap dress at Mom's house - there's a good chance it'll look great on me by then!20 -
Finally got under 36 minutes on a 5k. GPS and timer: 5k at 35:53!!! A year ago I would have argued that I could never be runner.34

Lol. That’s a great story! Thx for sharing that one.4

I think this is a NSV. The other day my friend (who I haven't seen for awhile commented on my new haircut. Now I've had the same cut for years...and then I looked in a mirror and realized that the cut looks better because my face has changed. Yes I'm old (69) and have wrinkles but at least my hair looks good!35

My "Lift and Sculpt" jeans no longer lift or sculpt but are starting to look a bit baggy27

Cooler weather here meant I had to break out my winter clothing stash. Was looking for a decent pair of jeans to wear and I ran across a pair of size 10's my MIL had given me because they were too long for her nearly a year ago. I was wearing size 16's when she gave them to me, and I realized this week I was able to put them on and they very nearly fit. Little muffin-topy but they're not half bad, so I'll take it!35

Nowt wrong being old and having a few wrinkles - you earned them and, as I tell myself, it sure beats the alternative.15
