    An alarm clock/radio, a lamp, two baskets, that have knitting needles, yarn, hand lotion, body cream, box of kleenex, microwaveable heating pad, essential oils for aromatherapy thing.

    A lamp. My old-school "princess" phone. My Kindle. Three magazines (in Style, Allure, and Smithsonian). My reading glasses. An assortment of hair accessories. The earrings I took off before bed last night. Two more pairs of earrings. A nail buffer. Heel balm. A bra that somehow migrated up from the top drawer of the small dresser that serves as my bedside table and holds my lingerie. And an envelope on which I jotted the date and time of my son's dentist appointment.
