ok so I am confused, the link to the perseverance group looks like it's a challenge to lose 4% of body weight by end october, not a christmas challenge?

I think we'd have to create a group for that, this is on a message board, but no idea how we would do that. I think I'll stay over here too.

So after getting off to a flying start last week and feeling good, I undid it all on the weekend. I know what the issue was (it was one year since my mum died and I felt very sad). I think that first year of first birthday / Xmas etc etc without your mum is very hard(regardless of her age[97] or mine[60]!), so today I have drawn a line in the sand. Time to move on, and I certainly feel ready to move on. I will weigh in on Weds as that has been my usual pattern here on MFP. My PT has given me a program to follow when I'm at the gym by myself. Some structure helps!
I hope everyone has had a good week and if not, forgive yourself and have a better week ahead. I will post on Wed, regardless of ups or downs, be accountable. I'm in this for the long term!5 -

Already started a Halloween challenge but I’m happily surprised it seems I’m surpassing my goal for the end of the month (130) so thinking now about Xmas! I’d generally like to be down another 10 lbs at least but it’s kind of arbitrary because once I get a few lbs below 130 I want to start incorporating strength training again. Not interested in skinny fat as the end goal.
I know I’ve lost since Oct 1 so counting that as mon weight in already. Will only have few hrs sleep tonight so scale will prob be in accurate tom.

I’m in. I walk most days and restarted diligently counting my calories on Oct 1st. I was able to maintain my weight by intuitively eating for a couple months, but was unable to lose during that time. I am here to finally lose those last few pounds to get me to my goal weight, 135 lbs.

It would be nice if this were an actual GROUP, instead of merely a DISCUSSION. Whomever started this discussion seems to have abandoned it. One member, deepwoodslady, has done a good job at helping others, here. If she formed a group, I'd join.0 -
Figured this is a good way to stay motivated through the holidays and shave off the last few pounds. Stuck to my diet through the weekend, which is something I struggle to do sometimes...but I think 2 days of heavy lifting made my weight higher this morning than it really is. But we'll see 😉

I lost 3lbs, which means some water, but I’ll take it. I’ve never eaten this much (1500 calories) before to lose. I’ve always set my daily allowance to 1200, which I’ve learned is too low and probably why I haven’t been successful. Yay!!!
