I only eat back 50% of my exercise calories because the calorie burn is almost always WAY overestimated.

Yes I would. Especially if you are trying to gain, those calories are very important. But overall pay attention to what the scale does.. if you are gaining weight at the right pace eating back only a fraction of those exercise cals, then you are on the right track. If you are not gaining, then you have to make sure you eat them back and make sure the calorie burn is somewhat accurate for what you are doing.

So First I should only get those calories that are recommended if my weight is not increasing then should increase my calories like about 100 or 200 cal until I start gaining wait. I am right?

Yea, if you are gaining at the right rate then great. Most likely in that case you would be overestimating your intake or calorie burn.

I think you might find many people who are trying to gain to use the TDEE method, which is the total calories required to maintain your weight (plus surplus calories) so rather than adding exercise calories using the MFP method, you have a fairly consistent calorie goal each day (or average for the week). This method works well if your exercise is similar week to week.

I've found MFP calories burnt to be pretty accurate myself, I've always lost as expected eating every single one back.

What kind of exercises are you logging on MFP? I log a lot of hiking and while I know I’m working hard, I kind of doubt that I’m actually burning 450+ cal/hour.

And sorry OP, I didn’t see that your profile says you’re trying to gain. I guess I would eat all of my workout calories back if I was trying to gain.

That's the thing, choosing accurate entries.

I was logging insanity, strength training, walking, circuit training, badminton
