Ok Green Beans, I was a little bumbed that we missed out on our team all last week. And I understand that we are all really busy, so I thought to help things out I would see about getting the challenge started asap.....if you all disagree tell me so. So here goes, I think we have done the stay away from the scale until weigh in day....I think we need to continue that, we had the water challenge......we definatlly need to continue that....I say we all post daily the amounts of water at the end of our challenge.......just like if we track our calories daily.....we had a late start on the cardio challenge, which I personally think is a great one......how many mins of cardio did you do for the week.

So shall we start Cardio Minutes challenge over again from today? So at the end of the week, log like this........

Last Weeks Weightt: 241
Todays Weight: 238
Water per week: 100 glasses (eight ounces each)
Cardio Mins: 1000

What do ya all think?

Reminder: 3500 calories = 1 pound of ugly fat!

I know how you feel on the working out inside thingy......I can't afford a membership anywhere and can't workout outside (walking) cause I live in a bad area of town, so I went online and found the Gazelle cheap........that is helping, otherwise I just danced in the livingroom, did Zumba or Pilates tapes........

Its a challenge and in them we all hope to win, but in your mind set a personal goal to do at least a certain amount........even if it's not a ton of minutes, make it the best job you can do............

Well, I thought that for some future week a good challenge would be to cut the amount of desserts (not counting fruit) that we eat in a week in half. Not cutting them out completely, but reducing and maybe replacing them with fruit. What do y'all think?

On a side note, they've had strawberries in the caf for the last two days!!! So exciting!
  • Great idea, Sassie. Count me in!

Bonniejo, I like your idea too. We'll have to keep that one in mind for a near future challenge!

    Go green!!!
  • This one I can do! Im not a big desert person but I do like to have a piece of chocolate after supper which is dersert I guess.

I am not a big desert person either.........and if I do have desert its usually something good for me. You know I am really surprised at how this change of my life has really come about. I really have not had a withdrawel with any of this.........hmmm, guess it was just timing.\\:flowerforyou:

Yeah, I wasn't too bad before going to college, but there's just cake and cookies and ice cream sitting out in the caf and it's so hard to resist! :grumble:

OK, I'm in. But I won't be able to do the dessert challenge as I don't eat dessert. What I can do though is cut down on the dry roasted peanuts. That's my downfall of late. So, starting tomorrow I'm going to try to go 7 days without any.

Ok. Since I'm out of pudding-I wont buy anymore. I'll get the sugar free jello instead.

Let the CHALLENGE begin!! This is a really good idea SASSIE!! So many of us need an awakening to the day in and day out of the new lifestyles we are creating. Once we get to goal, we continue all that we have learned!! i don't know about the rest of you, but i occ'l think back to much of what we have all experienced here....being a part of this team keeps me focused and motivated! and i think the best knowledge for me is ~ one day at a time. it is never to late to restart, or get back on the saddle.....learn from your mistakes, change your habits and live the healthy life you are reaching for.

Some ideas for in-home exercising....hoola hooping, jumping rope w/OUT a rope, walk/jog/run in place, steps and stairs. load up a laundry basket or boxes for added wt. to carry on the stairs. be creative folks...you really do have a gym in your own home!

i love an outdoor walk, and even the cold doesn't stop me. lastnite it was around 20*/wind blowing.....i layered knit pants, cotton pants and snow pants / turtle neck, hooded sweatshirt, hooded winter coat / scarf, hat and mittens. i felt a chill near my ankles, arms and wrists when i started out, but within 5 mintues i was warm and sweatin by the time i got back home, 35 minutes later. the fresh air cleared my mind and i was so energized i considered walking longer. i also wear a vest reflective vest and take my cell phone...and my family knows my route. we only have about 760 people in our town, so i know many if i ever needed to get help.

did somebody say DESSERTS? i am not a big eater of them, but the rest of my family is....and I bake/cook for them.... cookies, cake, brownies, bars.... it is a challenge sometimes, and it seems if i eat one bite, i am in danger. also, i live with ice cream eaters. i buy it by the pails.....today i just bought 4!! YIKES!! yeah, think of the $$ saved if i didnt buy it..........but, i will tell all of you, my wt loss family, that i have a sober dh now, and the trade off is one i will not criticize. he faced his habit....now i am facing mine!

anyway Team, get that water in, move that body and work hard the next 5 days! push yourself every single day!! GO GO GO!! You guys are ALL so great!!

I think this is obviously an extension to the challenge Purr picked for us, my goal in posting this was to be sure that we didn't miss out on a challenge this week, since apparently I was the BL last week and didn't know til like Sunday.....I am burning out on not having a more structured group and have joined another to keep me going....I love everyone here, just need to stay motivated thats all.

So if yall wanna make this a personal challenge this week...the official challenge is on the other board....eat green stuff this week!

    :flowerforyou:

I won't be tracking your cardio minutes, but if you wanna post them in your forum posts on weighin day....you will know how YOU did on this challenge. And so will the rest of us participating in this challenge!
  • Sassie Im totally with you on this one. We need a little challenge each week to keep motivated and I just going to try to bundle them all together. I havent done any cardio today but plan on using some time after work and take some of Kellya's ( thanks :) ) suggestions to heart and get my bum moving.
I normally dont drink a full 5 glasses of water in a week........ today so far Ive got 4 down. So I really am trying and the day is young so I will get more in for sure. I even did a bunch of squats this morning while just standing there drying my hair.
The green veggie challenge will whip my rear since I generally just keep trying to get a mix of fruits and veggies in and not all greens ( today I had a tomato and basil sandwich -- basil is green.... but not enough to count as a serving)

Kellya.... hearing about you bundling up like a snowman makes me feel like I need to get out too! Ill ask hubby to go walk with me after supper tonight. We like taking the dogs out anyway to get their 'wiggles' out.

Gonna go get more water........................... :drinker:
  • Well, I'm not going to be getting any green veggies today:sad: I got up late and had to just grab whatever I could find for my food today (which isn't the best method I know). I will be getting home late but I may be able to get some broccolli in. I think I'm going to have to start packing my food the night before so if I do get up late I can just grab it and go. And, I will make better choices cause I'll have more time to think about it. For me, if I have everything for the whole day I do much better. I don't stray from what I have picked out for myself, unlike today where I had chocolate:explode: I have not had real chocolate in months then I just blew it all in one sitting:mad:

    Oops, posted in wrong forum:blushing:
  • Does anyone know how to do those little quotes, comments, etc under the ticker? I've seen several and was thinking I could put our goals for this challenge under mine.
