edited October 2024 in Introduce Yourself
Hi guys! my name is Amanda and im 21. I just started a week or two ago on here. Some friends from work introduced me to MFP. I'm way more over weight than i ever thought i would wind up. I played high school softball, then i put on the freshman 15 (or was it 50?) in my first year of college. Next i had my son. I love my son and my husband and i want to spend as much time here with them as possible. My weight is starting to take a toll on me... and when i saw a picture of myself (5'2 and 200) with my beautiful cousin (5'7 120) i was so mortified! It almost felt like every picture of me started looking like a fat joke (that i used to tell). When i stated my job in a dialysis unit, the realization that diabetes and hypertention (the 2 main reasons for ending up on dialysis) were going to happen to me and greatly increase my chances of shortening my life, i knew i had to do something. So here i am. 5 pounds lighter already. Looking for people to keep me motivated and on track! thanks for reading and letting me introduce myself!

Welcome aboard, Amanda. I am 5'3", and at one point I was 200 lbs (before I got pregnant with my son). I started my journey back in Sept 2010, and since then I have lost 50 lbs (from 194 to 144). This is very doable with alot of hard work and dedication. It makes it even more important when you have children - I have 2 myself. You can check out my profile, and I have progress pics in my profile as well. You will find alot of amazing people here.
