5'6 women- at what weight did you think you looked best?

I am 5'6 and looked and felt awesome at my lowest weight of around 130. However it was difficult for me to maintain that weight with my lifestyle as it required me to work out a ton and limit fun things like dessert and having a couple drinks. I maintained well at 135-140 and i was happy with that and aim to get back there again.2

Right around 150 (give or take 3 lbs on either side) is my happy spot - I am a little older, though at 54. If I get lower than that, my face really starts to age. (Someone once told me, as you get older, you have to decide between your *kitten* and your face...I totally understand what they mean, now!)10

The lowest I have ever been as an adult is 165, and I was a size 8. Unfortunately, I was not healthy when I was that weight. In law school, working hard and playing harder. I did a number on my body with diet pills, which made my thyroid quit on me (could have happened on it's own since it's hereditary, will never know). In my 30's, I haven't been able to get lower than 188 (size 10-12). At this point in my life, I will probably be "woo'ed", but I would like to see 170's or between an 8 and a 10. I know it's not in the healthy BMI range, but I do look good at that size! I am a heavier human. I honestly don't care the weight, I care more about how my clothes fit. Dr is happy with my lab panels.8

I am 5’6” and I look best when my waist and butt both fit comfortably in my jeans, which is around 125 lbs. Anything over 130 and I need to go up a pant size to accommodate my belly, but then the pants are baggy everywhere else. Over 140 and my bad knees start to ache. I’m at 130 now and working to gain muscle by lifting, so the scale is becoming less important. It’s all about the jeans.8

160 is overweight though
By the bmi like 5 lbs. That is nothing. Individual look may vary. I had a cousin who was 5'6'' and around 160 and she looked great too. She did lift weights and run though. She was still healthy and athletic. She liked being in the 140's better.8 -

I got down to 125 just before my 40th birthday, so my driver's license was honest! I was very happy with the fat loss but didn't have much muscle, so I started lifting for a while. I've been between 137 and 147 for the past year or so and would like to get down below 135. With the muscle I gained, I don't think I'd want to be lower than that.3

Especially the people who say they feel best at an overweight weight when they have never been below it to know if they will feel better at a healthier BMI. They always talk about too many being being overweight is such an issue, but it seems as though a lot of Americans might just prefer being at the high end or even overweight. I have heard some studies actually show being slightly overweight has health benefits, but not sure how accurate it is.
I thought I would be "too small" at a low healthy BMI, but once I got there I felt 10x better than ever before. I could run faster, farther, and had more energy than when I was slightly overweight.
I have been below an overweight weight - as I said, it was after 6 weeks of under-eating and over-exercising during boot camp.
The military scared me so much about the 10 pounds I was supposedly over that I lost considerably more. And then they raised the weight standards so that I was never over in the first place. This was the start of decades of yoyoing >.<4 -
I am overweight now but when I was much younger if I got down to 135 lbs I looked sickly. Way too small for my frame. I look best at 150.not bad at 160. I do not go by the charts they have as it says I am overweight then. But it is what I look and feel best at. I tend to carry quite a lot of muscle and lifted weights all the time back then. I wore the same size clothing as my friend same height who weighed 115 when I weighed 145. So I am a firm believer that there is no real scale number for your height. Just how you look at feel. btw I was big into my measurements back then. I at 145 I had a 23 inch waist and 36 inch hips.5
