I, as an American, am not taking the fall for such verbiage.

I couldn't care less about the new slang ;)

Thank you for getting that right :flowerforyou:

    Also, I concur.

Welcome to MFP, OP! Where we're all old and uncool unless you venture into chit chat.

These kids today with their rock-n-roll, cell phones, and apps and their new lingo... ugh.

When I was their age we were fine, fine, fine, 'cause we had one hand in our pocket and the other was giving a peace sign.

    Or paying a piano.
    Hailing a taxi cab.
    Flicking a cigarette.

If 1995 is old-timey rock-n-roll then I might as well just get out my rockin' chair!

I still remember where I was when they played U2 on the "classic rock" station. :(

    I am not a mod or a rocker....I'm a mocker.

With apologies to Ringo Starr. :D

Yes, I remember thinking "when did those songs become 'classic rock'?" I was shocked when ZZtop and Blondie was playing the free stage at the state fair.

I heard Stairway to Heaven on a Muzak system.

I'm far from a "kid" I'm not an animal nor am I a child, I'm an adult and if you don't comprehend what I'm saying maybe not interact with me ☺

You posted in an open forum...

Sorry OP--many of us are "older" and don't understand the "lingo". That doesn't mean I'm not interested in new ways of saying or doing things. Just add a translation for those who aren't hip. There are younger members that like to kid around and you'll find them on the "chit chat" and "fun and games" threads. However, for losing weight and getting solid advice you can't beat the veterans on here. I have younger members on my FL and enjoy following their progress. So, don't give up on us. Just find your place. Good luck.

This was in the mid 90s, it *might* have been "Taurus," by Spirit. ;)
