little ab muscle bump (I hope)

I have been doing abs a lot recently and I have been noticing an odd little bump I think is muscular but what makes it odd is the small size. It's about midway from breastplate to navel. It doesn't protrude so much that it is visibly noticeable or anything, but I feel it. Not sure if I am starting to get muscles to pop or if I knotted one. No pain there.

Could it be a lipoma (benign fat tumor)? I've got something like that on my abdomen and went to the Dr. thinking it was cancer (yes I have anxiety issues :) ) It turns out it was NBD.

Eta: If it turns out to be the beginnings of visible muscle, yay!

It's appearance and disappearance tracks with working out. Much more difficult to locate this morning; easy to locate the rest of the day after working abs.

Is it in the center or off to one side? I don't think you're going to see ab muscles in the middle.

Hernias can develop in several different places.

It could also be your xiphoid process, depending on how high up it is.

Definitely a good idea to get it checked out. A hernia can happen almost anywhere there's an abdominal wall.
