    Do you have an outside route you walk? Or a distance you can walk for a bit to get a fix on things?

    You can use https://plotaroute.com/ to map out a measured mile near where you live, walk it, and clock your step count for the walk to give you an approximate idea how many steps it takes you to walk a mile.

    I always averaged about 2400 steps/mile when I was tracking steps . It seems to vary a lot form person to person.

    Thanks for the replies everyone! I actually did map out an exact mile to see how many steps it would take. It took 2183!

    I am 5'7" and female. Not sure about walking, but a 6.4 mile run is 11,365 (ish) steps.

    One day where I ran gave me 1958 steps per mile. Other day lots of walking 2066 steps per mile. I am 5'9"

    my tracker doesn't measure distance accurately. At least, not according to strava which has GPS so I trust that more. So I'm not really sure! I could tell you how many running steps per mile but that's not the same.
