I like my gym - it's not a chain. For one price, I can take unlimited classes including Jiu Jitsu, boxing, MMA, bootcamp, cycling, yoga, and cardio kickboxing plus use the weights and equipment. Everyone is supportive and motivating there. There are people at all stages of fitness and all are welcomed equally. Evolution Athletix, Saco Maine. It's truly an amazing place.4

I wish I had options honestly, I have planet fitness and that's really it within about 30-45 minutes.
That gym sounds amazingthough!

My home gym in my basement5

The one that's in my spare room!2

Any gym that has lots of free weights and squat racks and doesn't frown on you for lifting heavy.3

Local gym (Umberger Performance, Robinson PA), training center for athletes (high school, college and professional), a "team" of power lifters (including me), and numerous specialty classes for general fitness. Everyone helps everyone else, no hurt feelings allowed so honesty prevails. It's how we all improve. I also belong to LA Fitness for some cardio. No comparison. Best gym is the one you enjoy going to.0

Planet Fitness meets my needs also. Hard to argue with the price - $10 a month plus the $40 annual fee comes out to an actual average monthly price of a little over $13. I go at 6 AM and there are a fair number of people there but there are always open machines. Sometimes I might have to wait a couple of minutes for an open shower. I do cardio, some circuit training (but I set the weight like I am strength training when I do a circuit), a few specific machines for strength training and always finish up with that rope on the resistance pulley (that thing will wear you out completely).0 -

I'm a member at Planet Fitness. It met my needs when I first started out. Now, I'd like to progress to more free weights which is something my PF lacks.0

I go to eos and for 20 a month I get unlimited classes and plenty of machines.0
-
I go to the university gym. not flashy or new but has all the stuff one needs, including 4 squat racks and 3 deadlifting platforms - which is way more than all of the commercial gyms i've ever been to! Plus, I get staff discount so cheap as chips0

a powerlifting gym3

A powerlifting equipped gym. They usually run $20 a month across the states and have the best equipment. So cheap and appropriate for most training.1

I just joined PF. It suits me just fine.0

The Y.0

I have a total gym (knock off) for muscular stuff, and mother nature for running/power walking.0

Just joined Vasa and love it. Huge gym, tons of free weights, movie aerobics, pool and jacuzzi. Can't be beat.0

Any gym that lets me squat/deadlift no shoes, has a tractor tire, a sledgehammer, some battle ropes, a squat rack, and dumbbells that go to 100 minimum.1

My local rec is amazing. 2 miles from my house, huge lifting areas (2 racks, 2 dead platforms, 7 bench press plus incline decline, 10-15 barbells, lots of weight plates, dumbells up to 105 lbs), every cardio machine you can imagine, all classes (spin, yoga, bare, various cardio/weights groups) for $5, 2 b-ball courts, Olympic pool, outdoor kids pool, child care...
All for $300 for the year for entire family!
I’m never moving lol (you have to live in the city to be a member)0 -

While it works for me, you wouldn't like Planet Fitness very much...0 -

That's my gym^^0 -
I'm happy with my LA Fitness. I need an inside pool, and they're the closest one to my house. My employer does have some fitness centers with pools, but because they have students as lifeguards (I work for a university), they close over the breaks, and that doesn't work for my needs all the time.0

I love the Y, but there isn't one close to me. I've been going to 24HR Fitness for years and it's worked out great. There are 4 locations within easy distance. Some have functional training areas, some have pools, some have basketball courts...all have plenty of racks and free weights.
Edit - I do also belong to a climbing gym, Momentum. It's truly phenomenal. 1 acre of bouldering , free yoga classes and an amazing gym with 8 squat racks, rings, parallettes, etc.0 -
I have a membership at the Y (we have about 9 here locally and most are really nice and updated). I also have a membership at 10Gym for when I need a late night workout if the Y has closed. I prefer the Y, but our 10Gym is pretty decent too.0

I always loved planet fitness, and I am counting the days down until one comes in to the area we moved. Yep, there “frills” like massage, tanning, red light, etc...but for $20 and being a night shift ER nurse and a mom of 2 small kids (1 being special needs), the “frills” are what get me to go when I’m feeling not into it that day0

I loved my college gym at VCU. The Cary Street Gym had everything I wanted and needed in a workout. They spoiled me.
I have been going to The Y and planet fitness fo a few months. It’s sad. I work at the Y and hate their gym. If I go in the mornings the showers are always cold, pool almost always booked, lots of the classes are scheduled during 8-5 hours when most people work, and it’s set up in a way that provides nothing to look at but a wall of trees.
Planet fitness is lacking in some areas, but they do have, nice showers and locker rooms, lots of cardio equipment, some weights, and unlimited hours.
