Went for a run for the first time since my half in July.
NSV 1: took it easy, did 0.5 of a mile, walked for a bit, then did another 0.5.
NSV 2: did not die
NSV 3: re-realised just how much fun running is and how treadmills suck - outside for me on Thursday
NSV 4: did SL 5x5 afterwards.
Only first week, but am thinking I may be able to reduce the swimming and start up the running and weights again without destroying my soul30 -
Rx'd a crossfit workout for the first time ever!25

After three months and five days off letting it slide, I finally got up and put in a workout. It feels great! Why did I stop?34

pseudo-nsv. I weighed the same on Friday morning as I did on Monday morning. That means I was able to at least balance my eating with my exercise. I find it really hard to not mindlessly munch and overeat on the weekends.23

175 x 3 close grip bench press last night.21

My 14 yr old son (who is a pitcher and soccer goalie) and I had a contest to see who could do a plank the longest last night... and I beat him at 70 seconds whoop whoop!29

Today is my 100th day of logging food and exercise!36

I had someone at the gym ask me how to get so much definition in the arms and shoulders without getting big. BTW, the answer is that's one of the first places the fat came off and it came off almost completely, so with enough exercise to get good muscle tone my arms look like an illustration from an anatomy book when flexed. It actually looks kind of odd in places where I have "divots" and troughs. Probably not the best way to train ("okay first gain about 65 pounds").16

Few will probably relate to this one, but the MRI tube was much more comfortable now that I have lost some weight! I don't mind getting an MRI, but I did certainly feel cramped before!30

One more notch down on the belt!
Technically I've reached this point before, but that was on my last pair of jeans that sat right on the smallest part of the waist. These sit slightly lower, so it was slightly depressing when I changed and had to go up a notch, but the last couple of days I've been flirting with the idea of going down a notch, and today I buckled up and it just seemed right to go a notch in.
It's the last one, so I might have to consider punching new holes before I reach goal weight!21 -
I pretty much live in tee shirts and hoodies year-round. When I started to gain weight I couldn't bear to get rid of my too-small (medium) shirts, so I bagged them up and put them in storage. Over the weekend, I discovered I can wear some of these shirts again Some of them run smaller than others - I washed them all so they're fresh and waiting for the day I can wear them again.26

I’ve had a head cold this week and have eaten all sorts of junk - today I’m back In the gym 😊 no thought needed20

Had a binge of sorts last night after work so I headed out the door at 8:30 pm stuffed did an interval walk/run to the gym (5 miles) and then did my 5X5. Was feeling sluggish and did not feel motivated whilst there but I got myself there and the fresh air on the way to the gym was life giving. New day today. The NSV was not going to bed on all that food....24

Most days at work (weather permitting), I take breaks mid-morning, lunchtime, and mid-afternoon to walk at least twice around the block. My NSV is I am inspiring coworkers to walk with me now, some days 4 or 5 of them, and several are now actively trying to lose weight.35

I was working out yesterday the the stretches weren't doing anything for me. I let my pt know and we went to the next level22

My newest NSV is being able to breathing through my nose while sleeping/laying down.26

My Fitbit is now on the first notch. Used to be the 3rd. The wrist is getting smaller23

Tonight after class, my body pump instructor commented on how much stronger I'm getting. I can do so much more now than when I started!!26
-
I went 4 miles on the elliptical instead of 3 - because I was bored and just felt like I could. And I crushed it.31

I went to the movies for the first time in a long time yesterday, and since I was tired and feeling crappy all day, I treated myself to a bag of potato chips to take to the movies. And then I forgot to bring it. So this morning, I took it to work and gave it to my boss (who eats anything and everything), because I didn't want to have it at home. It didn't even bother me.28

Went from a size 3XL in coat sizes to a Large! Super excited about that! I got my winter coat out from last year and I look ridiculous in it!48
-
My NSV is running a mile in 14 mins.34

Went to the fair and I could ride the rides! I could even get on some of the kiddie rides to be the designated ride along adult with my 3 year old.32

For the first time on a while I went on a domestic flight in a very small plane (destination was a small town in New Zealand). Instead of pulling out the seatbelt to the maximum extent, I didn't change it from the person before me and there was about 30cm left over. Also, instead of bulging over slightly onto the next seat, there was a bit of space on either side of me. So it didn't matter that the person beside me bulged over - previously that would have led to embarrassment as we would have been squashing each other.22

Also, I have always been massively bigger than my workmates (probably an average of 75kg heavier - they're not the same ethnicity as me which explains a lot of the difference). Today, the only ever so slightly overweight one borrowed a jacket from me. I said it might not fit but would be better than nothing. She said oversize is fashionable, but when she put it on it was so tight she could barely do it up. The sleeves were massively too long though. I'm about 20cm taller than her, so even at a normal weight I would expect my clothes to be too big on her. I think she was a bit embarrassed but her attitude towards me underwent a noticeable change as her ethnicity has no sympathy for people who are overweight.24

Ha I posted the exact same NSV back in April, right down to previously having the habit of automatically pulling the belt all the way out first in order not to know how I compared to the person before me. Huge congratulations; I know exactly how good that must have felt!8 -
I just tried on some 29" pants and bought a pair of 30" pants that I rock. Amazing. Don't pinch me; if this is a dream I want to sleep a bit longer...16

Yesterday a friend and I hit the outlets for winter gear shopping. The friend I was shopping with is tall and slim; I'm short but getting there, as far as slimness goes (near top of normal BMI). Although I know intellectually that I've gotten down into small sizes too, I still don't always remember it emotionally or at the more subconscious levels. Plus it's harder to see our own body size and shape objectively in the mirror than when we assess the size and shape of others.
So as far as the NSV goes, you know how girls will sometimes hand off clothes to each other, if not while shopping then when standing in front of each other's closets getting ready for a night out or whatever (probably guys do this too, now I think of it)? I'd spent decades making excuses in those situations so that I didn't have to attempt to squeeze into whatever my invariably slimmer friend was offering up and create that awkward moment when it didn't fit. I knew that I was one of those who was instinctively reaching to the back of the rack for the largest sizes each time I shopped, and even then having to just pray said largest size would fit. Yesterday not only did she and I get into all the same sizes and those things looked and felt good on me, but sometimes I was the one instigating the switch, like taking it upon myself to try on a (no-elastic) vest that she'd asked me to hold while she went to see about another item.
It was awesome.22 -
Did not sleep well due to some heartburn. Still feeling it when I woke up and was not motivated to go to the gym, but I went anyway. The exercise made me feel better and heartburn was gone about 10 minutes into the workout. #disciplinetrumpsmotivation23
